For the Newfoundland Berserkers we are coming into the playoffs as heavy underdogs and the league pundits would seem to agree. However that is just motivation for this young squad to prove the doubters wrong.

Sprinkled in to normal practices were puckless practices, the same ones that bring up dread from seeing no pucks on the ice in minor hockey. Conditioning and edge work was the focus in these practices that are especially brutal for the goalies.

Aside from that a healthy dose of underdog movies as a team building excercise. Miracle, Remember the Titans, Rudy were all viewed. Slapshot, The Replacements and even Cool Runnings thrown in as well.

The Zerks were given a slight break to recover prior to the start of their series with Yukon and hope to come in well rested, conditioned and motivated.
