It is an incredible honor to be drafted in the SHL and Demir Bellona doesn't take it for granted. He graciously accepted the invitation to make the selection in the S79 SHL Draft. The Montreal Patriotes didn't have the first overall pick this time around but at third overall they were still bound to draft an incredibly talented player. Bellona was very excited by this draft, not only because the crop of rookies was amazing, but also because this draft was happening on St. Pierre and Miquelon, a French archipelago south of the Canadian island of Newfoundland. He brought his best suit and took a week off to do some sightseeing while he was there. On the night of the draft, he was incredibly excited to get on stage to present the third overall pick, and he was looking for his GM which he hadn't had a chance to talk to that night, but as the commissioner let the Montreal Patriotes know it was their time to pick, and Demir Bellona got up, he saw Jamie Fraser get up on stage with all the Patriotes brass with him.
