There is a lot of excitement with the beginning of the season for the Walleye. It is our second season in Thunder Bay and we want to improve on last year’s result. The pre-season did not go exceedingly well as the team went 0-4-3 but those games do not mean much! The real season is just beginning.

If the team is going to do well then a couple of players will need to step into the limelight.

1. Grant Berd - Goalie
How Berd goes, so will the Walleye. Coming off a slightly disappointing sophomore season Berd will hope to rebound back to the levels he showed during his rookie year.

2. Jon Garfield - Centre
Garfield took a step forward last year and led the team in points. This will have to continue if the Walleye are to be successful

3. Jack Ellul - Defence
I'm a little biassed here but as a top ten pick there is an expectation that Jack will be able to step directly into the lineup.
