Ryland Murphy took his sweet time getting to Chicago after being traded by Calgary, and the GM's were not amused. He finally arrives but looks nothing like the Ryland Murphy from his junior days, and his first couple seasons in Calgary. It's suspected that he spent all of the offseason pounding donuts and chugging chocolate milk. The GM's literally throw him into a chair inside of their office for a much needed heart-to-heart conversation. They make it clear to Ryland that this could very well be the end of the road for him and that he needs to get his crap together. They drive the message home by stating that he must adopt a better work ethic, and that he has no choice but to not only change out every single light bulb in the stadium with LED lights, but also scrub each of the restrooms in the facility with a toothbrush that has nearly lost all of its bristles.
