Vancouver has a rough road ahead of them this year. As a team deep within their rebuild, things are looking grim. However, all is not negative, and there are certainly a few key players that should look to make a strong start for the team this year.
To start, Aaron Noxus (LW). Noxus is a no-bullshit all offensive winger build to shoot the puck and score goals, nearly to a fault. With a strong personality and an even stronger shot, it's not hard to see how this new addition to the team will get them going for the coming season. Up next, Trent Mackenzie (G). Through the preseason, it became rather obvious that Vancouver is lacking in the defense department. However, in net they made a big add this year. Mackenzie put up a very respectable .900 SV% over 7 matches. While its clearly not the greatest, for a goaltender who has just entered the league and with a defense about as strong as a wet noodle, things are looking up for this young netminder's future. Lastly, Hans Gronlund (LD). Gronlund is a rookie defender added after the preseason had ended, but is clearly looking to be a big help in the woe's of Vancouver's defense. The team struggled to keep their opposition out of their zone during the preseason, and Gronlund is poised to become the next up to help fix this. With strong stats over the start of the season, keep an eye out on this player. |
