It was pretty straight forward that San Francisco would end up with a lion as their team animal being the Pride and all. Coming off the hype of the hippo Moo Deng, the San Francisco owner thought it would be a great investment for the team to pay for an expansion of the lion habitat at the San Francisco zoo and have a similar vibe going. Sotacleb, the lion cub, quickly took the internet by storm and was the morale boost that the team needed for sure! Live streams would show what young Sotacleb was up to and it wasn't long before the players were posting were posting the #WinForSotacleb hashtags and giving it their all for everyone's favourite zoo addition. Of course, it's not as practical as a team dog or something since Sotacleb can't join the team at practices or in the arena for the games themselves but the spirit is enough to keep the team pushing for a strong finish through the second half of the season!
