Option 2:
The Tampa Bay management goes the unorthodox route of hiring a professional “glue guy” for the locker room. Normally this is a role fulfilled by a player. Someone whose personality either sharpens the highest performers, or dulls the ache of the worst loses. They can be crass or empathetic or both. Its someone who is not typically the superstar. Someone who finds their place without needing to show up on the stat sheet. Hiring someone to only fulfill this role is certainly not traditional to say the least. For that reason management has decided to keep it hush hush, and not even really tell the players what this new person is doing in their locker room. To avoid some base level of suspicion, management gave them a mundane task that gives them reason to be there in the first place: grilling fresh hot dogs right there in the locker room. Sure that’s not “traditional” either, but are you really going to argue when there is a freshly grilled hot dog in it for you? Didn’t think so. ![]() |
