When Oliver Cornwall hit the ice for his last season in the J, it is alongside none other than longtime defense partner David Vent. Vent and Cornwall have been playing (mostly) on the same pairing since the departure of former Whaler Groaty Bronson. Vent, a defenseman with huge offensive upside, is a great compliment for the more two-way focused Cornwall. In a nice twist of fate, Cornwall and Vent were both selected by the New England Wolfpack in the first and second rounds respectively. The two share a mostly professional relationship, but they're bound to spend some time together given that they are together literally all the time on the ice. In the interests of not getting absolutely sick and tired of each other, they limit contact outside of the rink. With that said, when they're on the ice together they share the same headspace, making plays without a second's hesitation because they know each other so well. |
