OPTION 2:

When the offer to join the broadcasting team at ESPN 8 the Ocho for an event, I jumped at it. It is a bit of a retirement dream of myself to be able to join a broadcasting group when I retire. I figured a warmup practice with an over the weekend event made a lot of sense. I forgot to ask what the event was for, but I was an athlete as a child and new the rules for most sporting events, I could wing it for almost any event and still produce. I was sure of it.

I was wrong, while I had been a part of many leagues, across many sports. I had no knowledge of Cricket, let alone a cross dressing lingerie league. I walked in and stood their dumbfounded as my brain tried to process what I had just agreed too. How would I approach it, what would I say, how is his junk going to stay inside that tiny banana hammock while running around? NO FOCUS!

Once the event kicked off I had a ball. It was like a full on drag show, lights, music, dancing. Between each batter another preform came on and had a show. The field danced to the songs as if they were back up dancers. They came onto the broadcast booth and interacted with the hosts. I was able to talk about their dance moves and joke with the athletes as this informal show of grace and athletics crushed all my expectations. Kind of made me want to start a drag hockey league...than I thought about taking a hit or falling on the ice with little on and decided I will stick with SHL hockey for now.
