Gato is absolutely accepting this opportunity, I mean are you kidding me? You don't need to know much about the sport specifics to color commentate, just have a listen to any of the major broadcast channels these days. At the end of the day all sports are going to boil down to getting the shooty ball into the other goal. Add a little bit of flair to your descriptions and you're golden. Gato would absolutely wing it using a number of filler phrases like "exceptional play right there", "that player really has instincts that can't be taught", or even the classic "terrible awareness on that play you just can't hurt your team like that". I'm not saying Gato would be as good as some of the greats in sports commentary, but I think it wouldn't be a far cry from being passable. All it takes is a little bit of charisma and some off the cuff thinking and anybody can fill in for a single day!
