Ubba Lodbrok, center for the Philadelphia Forge of the SImulation Hockey League, and former player for the Anchorage Armada of the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League, and current representative of the Finnish National Team, was invited by John LaLiberte and Jordan Balboa to come on their show to talk about the Philadelphia Forge's pre-game show Hammer Time. Ubba was peppered with questions left and right about the season. Ubba Lodbrok, being the hockey player he is, gave the most non-commital hockey answers possible. "We had to fight for every point we earned" "Doesn't matter when in the season, a point is a point" "Our power play struggled at times, but if we can get pucks deep and get shots on the net good things happen" "Hockey is a simple game made complicated by humans". Once the conversation started to veer into the post season though, Ubba was honest about this own and his team's performance in the first round. "We sucked. We didn't play well enough to make it easier on ourselves, Manhattan was less than .500 this season, we should have cruised through that first round, but we didn't. Maybe it gave us enough drive to prove that we are the first seed and do deserve to be in the ECF against Atlanta. Who is going to be a tough opponent after they've only lost two games this playoffs. But we stay focused, we play our game and win one game at a time, one period at a time, one shift at a time, one puck battle at a time."
