Elly would accept the invitation and make sure it is known that she knows very little about the sport. perhaps they selected Elly to sabotage her by making her look bad as commentator, or perhaps it was an oversight, or even fully intentional. Elly would research a bit about the sport during the 12 hour period and probably turn down the money as well but still offer to commentate. Elly woudn't want to make a food of herself but also feels like she shouldn't have much to worry about. she would research enough but wouldn't try cramming, as that would probably look worse in her mind. When the day arrives Elly would happily appear and just have a good time. She is a charismatic kitty and makes the time fun and energetic, and even a tad comedic accidentally throwing in some hockey terms in place of another sports terms. She comes out of it with everyone having a great time having her on, and learning a lot as she goes. It is also a great opportunity for the other commentators to take a teaching role and they and Elly teach each other and the fans a little bit about each sport.
