I’m not gonna lie when I was drafted by Kelowna I had to look up on a map where I was going being from a big city to a city of only 180k was an adjustment but my GM tried to make that transition as seamless as possible the surprising benefit of being in a small market is everyone is a fan there was a small group waiting at the airport with signs and when we got the the stadium it was like a red carpet event with people lined up on both side of the barricades taking pictures and asking for autographs
Getting into the locker room there was a small care package of stuff we will when living here along side the usual team apparel , a big winter coat since the Canadian winter is no joke and bottle of locally produced wine there was a rookie dinner after our tour so myself and all the other rookies could get to know each other and learn about the city together |
