Coming from Japan to the US is a big culture shock for Wednesy, who had never really been to the US before. A life of traveling with the Shinkansen from city to city, in ultimately horrendously fast trains was what she was used to. She also appreciated the number of shrines that were available in Japan, but actually her family originally did come from the US which had now brought her back to the US to play hockey. Coming here was unique for her, but she was determined to do well and to combine the cultures in her own little way. It was a joy to get on the ice and skate around with some future teammates and being able to show some talent off as a center on the hockey team. Playing with men didn't intimidate her. the SHL had long made this popular and common and for her it was just another day in the office.
