everybody was watching, even your grandpa
barracuda and panthers, locked in at a tie
each team's score and the time clock displayed only fives

sounds of a buzzer rang out through the air
it's getting late now, the game started at nine
but the energy was high as we reached overtime
the teams skated fast with stickhandles so quick
but not even a cross crease would do the trick
each goalie making incredible saves
pucks hitting blockers like moths to a flame
the defense stood tall, so strong and so stout
the future of victory was never in doubt
the panthers surged hard, fighting till the end
but the barracuda knew on whom they could depend
he scored the game winner cellied with glee
