' William Salming is from Finland. There are sometimes very very very cold and tough winters so of course he has played some outdoor hockey as a kid. Every winter he headed to the nearest outdoor rink and played there about two to three hours before he was exhausted and then walked 10 minutes back to home to eat and warm himself. Salming would love to play in the Winter Classic game of the SHL. It would be epic environment and event for sure. Hopefully he has sometimes a chance to do it. If Salming would be able to choose the opponent, he would love that Hamilton Steelhawks would be against Toronto North Stars. Those Toronto boys are used to so luxury places and warm ice halls that they would be shocked when they were supposed to play outdoors. Hamilton is known for its grinding mentality so for them playing in a Winter Classic would not be a problem at all. I am sure that would be a nice match-up between two teams which come from different areas of the North America. ![]() |
