Yuri Boyka III is a natural football (soccer) player and he would have easily made the pros if he decided to go that route. Many were calling him the next Cristiano Ronaldo, since his athletic abilities were on par or even greater. However, Boyka III decided to play hockey instead to follow his elders path. Both Boyka's before him were hockey players in the SHL, and Boyka III wanted to pursue that route. However, many did not know that Boyka III was equally talented in another winter sport. This is none other than curling. Boyka III was exceptionally well at the sport and could have easily made the pros and be known as one of the greats. He just didn't go into it as it was not a much sought out sport like hockey. Boyka has great touch and is incredibly accurate. This makes him stellar in curling and even archery. He did curling as a youngster but just did it for fun. As a child, he was beating grownups and thought the sport was just boring. That's the reason he left it and just continued with hockey.
