Option 1: Truthfully, the hockey movie I'd like to see get made is one following just a total asshole - think the worst sort of arrogant, douchebag athlete, blessed with incredible skill and absolutely no desire to act like a productive member of society - whose career abruptly ends after getting a brutal injury, and which sees him have to try to make his way in the world of the sport having alienated tons of people and burned most of the bridges built along the way. Maybe somebody takes pity on him, puts him back on the straight and narrow, and he spends his time making amends to all the folk he was a prick to, like a cross between My Name Is Earl and Slap Shot. Either way, it might not win the Palme d'Or but it's a story potentially with some legs on it. Simo's cameo would be brief but literally punchy: appearing right at the beginning of the film, the protagonist dekes Simo out of his skates, scores and gets right in Simo's face so nearly sparking a brawl.
