Boots is invited as an advisor while filming is taking place in Texas for a movie which has a scene in a hockey rink. They wanted a couple action shots on ice while the main actors were watching the game from the stands. They also wanted a stray puck to fly out and hit one of the actors in the jaw. It happens. They wanted Boots to be the one firing the puck with a slap shot gone wild. That shot was done fairly easily. They just got a shot of Boots winding up and shooting the puck. They added a shot of the puck deflecting off of the crossbar behind the goalie which then flies off into the stands and into the face of the actor playing one of the main roles. The puck of course is replaced with a black sponge puck shaped object. The actor suggested using a real puck get thrown at him but Boots advised strongly against it unless he wanted to lose a couple teeth.
