1. Make every player an IIHF Free Agent when they create, or rather than selecting birthplace, make it a dropdown box which allows users to select their IIHF federation. When I created, I wasn’t aware that me putting a random birthplace tied me to a specific federation, because I wasn’t aware there even was IIHF in this fictional game world; but even then, how am I supposed to know what federations even exist? Intuitively, even if I assumed there was IIHF and implications based on my birthplace, I wouldn’t assume that Québec had its own federation while Russia doesn’t, or that Ireland or Japan had federations at all because they’re ranked so incredibly low IRL relative to numerous feds that lack teams.

2. Create an IIHF Guide and, yes I’m saying it, assign 1/2 TPE for users who answer questions right on a quiz about it - available once per user across all user players, just like Deep Dives. Or a cash incentive. I don’t understand how the transfer portal works. I don’t understand if I’m allowed to transfer, but maybe I’d have considered it if I was allowed when Seppanen was forced to play as a bottom line forward for Finland (probably not but). Or players who got cut from their national team due to the Norden amalgamation may have reconsidered their Fed.
