When Hip Hurts got a call that he was wanted as a hockey advisor for an upcoming movie, he was initially confused. He's one of the worst players on his team currently, and is pretty much only good at using his 6'6" body to block shots so he wondered what brought the film crew to him. But then he read the script and it made more sense, the movie was only peripherally about hockey, it mainly told the story of the illegal underground zamboni racing scene, like some sort of hockey fast and furious hybrid. It was a low budget local film, and Hurts' role was basically to be a familiar face since he's been serving as NBB captain for 3 seasons. Hurts has a cameo where he is accidentally ran over and killed by the main character during a race, causing him to spiral and quit his racing career. But then Hurts visits him as a ghost and explains how it was really somehow a sabotage by the main villain, which inspires the main character to race in the finals to defeat him once and for all.
