The Ottawa Highlanders just capped their season with a 10-1 win against the Nevada Battleborn and while Easton Schaffer had a five assist night, he was approached by a casting director to advise some actors on how to play hockey. He was interested in providing some direction, but he also asked the question: "Why don<t you get an SHL player, they're all pros?". He was then told the movie is about a young talent coming up through the juniors; the drama revolving around off-ice drama and a "not ideal" family home and an agent that was trying to siphon as much from the family. It's one of those feel-good, against-all-odds success stories about the young hockey player. Without going too much into the details, Schaffer understood the mandate and graciously accepted, even being offered a cameo in a few scenes as a player on a rival team. The movie's name has not been disclosed but has a working title. 168 words |
