S80 SMJHL PT #6 - One Season at a Time Due: Sunday, January 26th @ 11:59 PM PST
#6

Mathieu Mathématique did about as well as he could have during his rookie season. His team, Detroit, finished dead last in the SMJHL and didn't really have a chance from the start. This season was all about improvement for many of Detroit's players. Mathématique came in expecting to play a more defensive role on the right side, but he instead played a much more significant role on the left side. Averaging over 21 minutes a game, Mathématique gained a lot of experience with league play. His offensive role was greater-than-expected. He put up 21 points and scored 8 goals, and spent a decent amount of time manning the powerplay. He lived up to his Mathématique surname by being very calculated with his shot selection. He was able to get the puck on net, through countless bodies and obstacles. This was an overall successful season for Mathématique and a building block for hopefully, more successful futures.
