S81 SMJHL PT #6 - One Season at a Time Due: Sunday, March 30th @ 11:59 PM PST
#3

For me personally, I'd say my rookie season in the juniors went pretty well. For the team as a whole it was kind of mid, we spent the year being solidly midtable and ended up exiting the playoffs early (despite a close fought series), so of course it could have been better - but anyone can say that, except maybe the team that wins the cup. Personally, I'm pretty happy with how I did. I felt like my defensive play, which is my primary focus, was very solid all throughout the season, having some very good defensive stats in areas such as TA/GA and shots blocked. Offensively I did struggle a bit to start - it took me 23 games to score my first goal, and I didn't exactly light up the lamp all that many more times - but I did actually rack up quite a respectable number of assists as well, and I could see my offense improving as the season progressed. I think the coaching staff definitely saw that as well and trusted me to play more minutes. For the next season, we've just gotta keep moving forward as a team, I want to further improve my all around skillset and hopefully go on a deeper run.
