My first season in the SMJHL was up and down. That’s to be expected of a new goalie, so I can’t complain too much. As I progress even further towards what I want my build to be, I can really begin to evaluate my successes and shortcomings. I posted a record of 19-13, so the team won while I was in the crease. To be honest, though, I’m sure alot of that had to do with the players playing in front of me. The 3.78 Goals Allowed Average is something I’ll want to bring down. I get it, this is the SMJHL, and some games end like 10-8 or some ridiculous scores, so I can’t expect to be Dominik Hasek right away, but I’d like to see that get into the low threes range. My counterpart did it so I know it’s possible. Team success is my main motivation, and unfortunately we were knocked out in Round 1, shockingly, so I’d also like to do better in that next season.
