Volatility and chaos is what makes the International Ice Hockey Federation fun, just because the tournament didn't turn out as chalk doesn't mean that it was a bad tournament. Single elimination is the heart of the actual International Ice Hockey Federation tournament and the thought behind the Simulation Hockey League playoffs, when we have the regular season which leads to teams having a multi game series to determine whomst is the best. Players are always able to move able in regular season to try to find a team that suits their play style or find the right culture fit. International Ice Hockey Federation is meant to be a standing point in the life cycle of a player where they get to play a handful of games that lead to a one game playoff to determine which country get the bragging rights. The fun of the short tournament is having a short final bracket play that leads to the champion. The fun in the single elimination is that if the higher seed is knocked out it becomes any body's game in the following rounds. Personally would hate to see International Ice Hockey Federation tournament turn into a multi game series.
