1. Fan Appreciation Day

With Fan Appreciation day around the corner for the Whalers faithful, it seems pretty straight forward on what the Whalers will be doing for this very special day. I think first and foremost, plenty of games and activities for fans and family alike to enjoy and have a good day at the arena. I think the organization would most definitely looks to have some wildlife folks out, specifically those focused on whale habitat preservations and whale preservation as a whole. The BIG ticket item though, is a fully customizable stuffed pet whale. Kind of like build-a-bear, but it's a whale! You can dress them up in a Whalers jersey (with your favorite player), other hockey accessories, or maybe just a plain whale if that's your style! Either way, I'm sure a stuffed pet Blahaj is going to be the take of fan day, and exactly something that is going to get people jazzed after such a successful S81 for the Whalers!

2. Looking Towards the Future

VAN is in a super interesting place roster wise. The current core and bulk of the team is in place, and there's depth throughout the lineup. Same goes for Goalie, have a starter with an absurd amount of TPE and an active backup, there's not much more I think the team needs in terms of getting ready to go all in.

There are currently 3 Centers over 350 TPE, 3 LWs over 350 TPE, 2 RWs over 350 TPE, and 3 Defenseman all over 250. Plus, both goalies are well over 350 TPE as well. Again, the bulk of the team that is going to be competing is there. However, I think VAN would be remiss to go into next season without looking to add to their D core. Having 3 D over 350 and 1 more just over 250 is a great start, but it comes at the cost of needing to play Forwards out of position as D-men. Truthfully, it worked out well for the Whalers and allowed for their offense to shine when it was needed, but with the getting a slightly older, right now makes sense to pull the trigger on bringing in some youth to help fill out the bottom 6 and add some true defenseman.

Additionally, I don't believe that VAN is going to be hit with any callups either, so the bulk of the team should be around for another season. VAN really is primed to make a good run for the Cup next season, and have stacked the chips in a way that should give them an optimal path forward both through the offseason and the next full season.

12. On the Radar
Write a pre-draft scout report on your player from the perspective of a journalist covering the prospects of the S82 SHL draft class. What do possible SHL suitors have to be excited (or perhaps wary?) about when it comes to potentially drafting your player?

Scouting Report for Thomas Passarelli - LW - Vancouver Whalers

Passarelli shows a remarkable instinct for the puck, or rather the positioning of the puck. He has a keen awareness that allows to be involved on both the offensive and defensive ends of the ice. Whether that's a good or a bad thing is inconsistent at best, but the fact that he is so willingly engaged in all facts of the game bodes well for their growth. Even with his smaller frame, he plays up in size, most notable playing a defender, and excelling at a position he was not trained for. Exceptional off the puck speed, but needs work on handling when he has the puck on his stick. That should come in time though and there are flashes of talent when he is out on the ice. Also has shown flashes of maturity and leadership for their age, although, wondering how much of that comes from his past history as a football. Would imagine that that translates well to the ice, but may need the right environment to truly take advantage of that.

Pros:
Plays big
Knows where to be
Great off puck movement

Cons:
Gets lost in transition
Tries to do to much
Missing that extra gear

16. Goals
Although your career may still be in its early stages, it's still a great time to think about the future. What are some goals you have for your career, or some personal goals for the site? Are you striving for a HOF induction? Getting a site job?

Absolutely striving for a Hall of Fame career. Obviously, a lot of luck and patience needed for that. But that's the plan! Also looking to try and hit 2K cause obviously, want that super cool trading card, because that's what we're really here for. Other than those *small* things, definitely want to try and win 1 championships!
