18. Milestones
SMJHL Milestones +2 1. Fan Appreciation Day Fan appreciation days are always hit or miss. You have to give the fans something worthwhile to really show that they mean the world to the team. Without them, why even play the game? You gotta start with a rally towel, and it has to be a high quality one. I have had too many towels be low quality and scratchy. This sucker has to be actual microfiber so it can be used for something afterwards as well. Need a solid design so why not put Matti Brynjarsson wrestling or riding a bear. He was the rock that held down the team so it only makes sense to plaster his face all over this towel looking like a true badass. Goalies need more appreciation so this can double as a goalie appreciation day. Just imagine the fans spinning these towels and cheering on the team as they take the ice despite the fact that they are at the bottom of the standings. It just brings a tear to the eye. That is only just the start of what we are giving to the fans. One towel ain't gonna cut it in my mind. Every fan should also get a sheet of team stickers so they can slap them on everything to show their team spirit. There's two things for giveaways, but there has to be something more. You can't go too hard as we are but a little juniors team and not one of the big time teams with a lot of revenue to throw out there. I think the best way to supplement this disparity would be to do some sort of raffle. You could have game used gear, ticket packages, merchandise, experiences and more as part of the various prizes. This would work similarly to a 50/50 raffle if you are familiar. Tickets are available for purchase with more tickets per dollar the more you spend. Proceeds from the raffle would go towards supporting youth hockey organizations in the area and the fans get a little something out of it too. Just to recap: sick rally towel, sticker sheet, fan raffle 50/50 style for charity. I think all of that would play into a pretty awesome fan appreciation day. I know that if any team near me put on something like that, I would be so down even if it was just the raffle part. Other teams take notes because this will be tough to beat. (410) 17. Feedback I will admit that it has been a while since I've put in the time to do a championship week task. I remember that each task would be worth a set amount of TPE with a word requirement. I really enjoy the ability to just spit out as much as I want for a particular topic and get more credit for it. I had a ton of fun this season doing deep dives for the first time because I was able to go in as much depth as I wanted so long as I met the minimum requirements. The topics have a good variety to keep things fresh and you are not forced to try and bs your way through a topic just to get the maximum amount of points available. I am not sure if these are the same prompts as previous season. I am sure there are some that are the same but through feedback and a good team full of ideas the tasks stay fresh and exciting for people to sink their teeth into. We will see how the PT rotation is like in the coming seasons to fully judge whether or not some adjustments need to be made to keep folks engaged. I just do not have the exposure and sample of prompts available to confidently judge the quality that the PT team is putting out. For what I have seen, I like what has come out and have enjoyed the fact that each main written task has two options depending on the angle you want to write about and that there is a graphical option available as well. It gives users choice and does not force them to put words on a page for the sake of earning. Some prompts are better than others but overall, great work PT team. Keep it up and I look forward to see what else you have in store moving forward. (322) |
