Prompt 2
A hero is a person you can turn to and they’ll deliver in the toughest moments. That can be a huge save or a clutch goal, but also a locker room speech that sparks the tinderbox to make the team lock in, a huge blocked shot, or just a perfectly placed pass or poke check. A hockey hero is the most dependable person to deliver when the pressure is on. On the Baltimore Platoon, I believe M’Baku Olubori could be considered a hero for the team. To date, I believe he has the franchise record with 63 regular season game winning goals, alongside several other scoring records. Additionally, I think his 9 playoff GWGs for the Platoon make him the best clutch playoff performer from this current era of the team. For many years, he never wore a letter but remained a vocal support for his teammates, doing whatever the team needed him to so they could win. In the last few years, he’s served as the team’s captain, and is who many turn to when they need that extra push to keep battling for a loose puck or find another gear to press in a close game. But as all things eventually do, this era of the Platoon story is closing fast. Baku and the S68 class that formed the backbone of the team for so long are getting older, a new generation is waiting in the wings to tell their tale. Who will the new heroes of the story be? Only time will tell. |
