To be a hero as a hockey player, you certainly have to show up and perform in the big moments. Often times, heroes are thought as those who score a winning goal in the finals or make a big save when their team needed it most. But there is more to it, and a hero on a team would need to be someone who thinks about everyone involved with the team and not just the star players. I believe a hero is someone who makes sure that even fourth line forwards, third line defense, and backup goaltenders still get the credit they deserve. This might be through media conversations or getting them the puck in a crucial moment, but a hero would make sure they are noticed and involved in some way. I also believe a hockey hero is involved in the community and is often seen giving back and volunteering with the community, so that the fans know that the player cares about the city as a whole. ![]() |
