Once upon a time there was a dream. A dream to build the greatest SMJHL team of all time, the S17 Dream Team. Never before done, all player would align upon one juniors team. The process of which team that would be, would be decided on I don't know what. Anyways, they would dominate. Ladies and Gentlemen, This seasons SMJHL Dream team.
At Left wing.. Center.. Right Wing
Matej Stransky - Thomas King - Magnus Jakobsen
Defense 1... Defense 2 Vladimir Bodnar - Marlo Stanfield
Goal tending (Starter/Back up)
Starter: Gustav Grimm Back up: Dominik Makarov
Reasoning behind the forwards:
LW - Matej Stransky is one of the top player coming out of the S17 SHL draft. Last season Stransky only managed 8 goals and 5 assists for 13 pts in his rookie campaign last season. However, hard work and extreme dedication since the playoffs ended early for him have since given him a large reward. Stransky is currently one of the biggest threats this season in the SMHL. So far this season Stransky's stats are as follows based on the current sim:
C - Thomas King is one of this season top rookies. It was a toss up between a couple and could be slight biased, but King is an extremely valuable member to the Whalers offense and Locker room. His play this season for being a rookie, even though having a player like Jakobsen, is incredible. Thus far, King has trained extremely hard to improve himself and his star filmed team. King is, in our opinion, a top 3 candidate for rookie of the year. The following are Thomas King's stats so far this season:
RW - Magnus Jakobsen is exactly like Stransky in being one of this seasons stars and players to watch. A shoe in for this position, Magnus Jakobsen has trained since his finals loss to the Scarecrows last season and become a whole new player. Last season, Jakobsen had a fair outing as a rookie, netting 12 goals while helping on another 12 for 24 points total. A decent amount for a rookie, but Jakobsen wasn't satisfied. Jakobsen took to the press and stated he would become an extraordinary player. The following are Magnus Jakobsen's stats so far this season:
Seeing how this Dream D Pairing is already a pairing in the juniors for the , We'll keep them as a pair for the explanation. These two are arguably the best Defense men individually in the league, and together as a pair, they make the best pairing. You can argue this all you want, but ladies and gentlemen, who won last season Fourstar Championship? . Who was the dominate pairing that was behind the AMAZING 8 and 0 playoff run? Bodnar and Stanfield. The following are both their stats for this season:
Starter Gustav Grimm should come to no surprise, Leading the Whalers to a first place finish and finals last season is no easy task, even if he had Walter White and Magnus Jakobsen upfront. Grimm has continued his SMJHL dominance this season, leading this season in Wins, GAA, and Minutes Played. Behind one of the leagues top lines and the good defensive depth, Grimm should be able to spot some award winning numbers this season!
Back up: Dominik Makarov is our choice for the back up. It was a toss up between him and :impact: goalie Semyon Varlamov. Makarov is going to be a star goaltender in the future and IF sent down again next season, maybe a possible three-peat threat for the rest of the league again IF everything goes right for Riggsy and Cuffy's crew . Either way, once Grimm goes on - Makarov will replace and beast for the Dream team a second time next season.
AND LASTLY, Seeing how their were a few positions where there was toss ups, I decided to add an honorable mentions Dream Team "If we could" second line.
LW - C - RW
D -D
Mclovin- Nicholas Botelho - :impact: Oliver Pettyfer
:impact: Tom Jervis - Magnus Vikstrand
[b]And that is this season DREAM TEAM..
