Interesting Stats

As the score shows the Vancouver Whalers dominated the Carolina Kraken winning 7-2 and out shooting the Kraken 36-20. Now the stats i find interesting all come into play around both of Carolina’s goal, the first isn't as outrageous but both of Carolina’s goals came in the first 2 ½ minutes of play in their respective periods, the 1st and third. With Vancouver also scoring within that time in the 2nd period. But the stats that i found interesting is that after both of Carolina’s goals, Carolina would quickly take a penalty, 43 seconds after their first goal, and just 6 seconds after their second goal. Then following these penalties Vancouver would score a power play goal less than a minute into their man advantage. 22 seconds after Carolina’s first penalty, and 39 seconds after the other penalty. This really shows how Vancouver gave Carolina absolutely no breathing room throughout the entire game.
