Wait so he's born in Boston, but has declared for Canada? Yes this is indeed the case for the big strong-skating left winger. Born to a Canadian father, who played college hockey in Massachusetts and then never left, and an American mother, the choice was left up to Jack Kennedy at a young age. Growing up in the era of Canadian Olympic and WJHC dominance coupled with an intense admiration for his father's home country made Jack's choice an easy one, despite the intense competition he hoped to eventually face.
While at that young age, Jack may not have fully understood the gravity of his choice, as person and a player--he's never been one to shy away from competition. His road to international gold and glory may be tougher running through hockey Canada compared to its American counterpart, but once/if he is there, his chance at striking gold is the reward he hopes to reap. |
