Russian spotlight: rookie.

Russian rookie Oleg Scoreov came up big in this game. With his third goal of the season, along with a +2 rating and 2 big hits tonight, Scoreov was named 3rd star for only the second time in his young career. His play today was very reflective of the kind of player he’s been training to be, with 71 scoring and 70 defense.

Highlight of the night:





His best play of the night? Couldn’t be anything else but his first-period deflection. Scoreov’s goal in tonight’s game came off of a well-timed shot by Kristoffer Matsson and some great hockey smarts by Scoreov’s. Quick reflexes and good positioning helped Scoreov tip this one right on goal and past Hunt to tie the game at 1.

Scoreov was recently traded to second-place Detroit, with Halifax getting veteran Detroit senddown Tobias Viklund in return. Hopefully, with a seemingly stronger supporting cast and a battle for the Laurifer on the line, we’ll be able to see him flourish and close out his rookie season strong.
