Was putting together my top 10 albums of all time today after work because I wanted to cross reference the type of stuff I listened to this year with my favourite albums ever. Realized my top 10 is pretty fucking basic, but I guess these albums are considered great for a reason. Thought I'd listen to one of the albums per day until the year of music really starts up

My #10 Pixies - Doolittle

I was actually surprised with how good some of the songs are. Are You Serious, Gays 4 Donald, I DO IT FOR MY HOOD, セックス大好き and Nickelodeon Girls are probably my favorite songs. Good shit.

The first album I heard as I forayed into indie/alternative music was The Suburbs by Arcade Fire, which was a fucking good album. Through that the next album I went to seek out was Funeral. This became one of my favourite albums ever almost immediately and shaped my musical tastes for the past 7 years or so. They also, in a weird way, led me to discover LCD Soundsystem, where Sound of Silver became my favourite album of the 00's and New York I Love You became one of my favourite songs of all time

My #9 Arcade Fire - Funeral

My favourite Canadian band never gained much traction and broke up a few years ago, but their music was just just real solid indie rock. Wrote some good Canadiana music, and their album Reconstruction Site is my favourite of theirs. Another one of their albums, Left and Leaving was fantastic too. I recommend people check them out if they like catchy choruses. They also wrote some good acoustic ballads

#7 The Weakerthans - Reconstruction Site
