S58 mPT #2 Most Important Stat

I dont know anything about the stats to be honest! I'm just guessing here. Strength and Stamina seem to be overall pretty damn important because if youre weak and have no stamina you wont get very far.

No, not placeholder. Puckhandling. Imagine you were the best puck handler in the world. You could be slow, not have a shot, not know how to pass, but if you kept the puck on your stick like you literally nailed it to it, what does any of that matter? You could literally stick handle the puck into the net. Someone hits you? Doesn't matter, puck is still on your stick. Crawl your way down the ice and the goalie still has no shot because you can just put your stickpuck in the net. The choice is obvious.

This is not actual advice and I should never be listened to about anything

The most important stat is bravery.

Okay, but seriously, as far as I know there is no “meta” for sim hockey. There is no most important stat. The most important stats are unique to each player archetype and so the most important thing to spend your point on is however you would see your character come to life. Hell, if there was someone out there who wanted to make the most vicious enforcer to ever play, I’ll be damned if I tell them not to put all their points in fighting and hitting.

Easy. Bravery. You need the courage to put your body in front of that puck like your net is Barack Obama. You need the stones to drive into the boards and make sure the forward pinching in deep never leaves. Be brave.

I'm all about spreading the wealth and having a more all around build, but if I had to pick one attribute it'd be strength. In a league filled with a bunch of primadonna snipers and playmakers you need people with a little sand paper. Increase that grit per 60.

Goals are the most important stat. The more of them you have the better chance you have of winning. Have more goals than your opponent and you win the game.

By far the most important stat to focus on is shot blocking. If you cant score just block shots, some team will sign you just cause you're okay with taking one for the team

If you like scoring points and seeing your name on the sim, I'd suggest your Getting Open stat. This allows your player the ability to make space to make plays.

All of them. Everyone knows the newest way to be the hottest player in the SHL is to have the sickest Ice Level card. "Overall" values are determined by a secret (for now, still being experimented with) formula that is based on attributes. My advice is to spread those TPE evenly. 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 > 8 + 5 + 5 + 5, even if that last 6 is in fighting, pump those attributes up. treat every update like the last update before the postseason (assuming you can regress those 3 in fighting 2 weeks later).

Old school hockey: offensive and defensive awareness are king. if you can help get the puck where it needs to be, its going to do good things for your team.

Keenan, if this is your call for help, I'd poke a little more into "offensive read" or "getting open".

This is always the toughest thing to answer, because it's shooting obviously ... what do you mean we don't use STHS anymore? Huh. Wonder when that happened.

Everyone will tell you to spread it out, and the key is that it depends on what you want to be and how you want to play, but to me -- checking is a super important stat to keep in mind. It never hurts to play strong defense.

An old man's dream ended. A young man's vision of the future opened wide. Young men have visions, old men have dreams. But the place for old men to dream is beside the fire.

The most important stat to build into for sure is checking. They cannot play hockey if they are dead on the ground can they? Hit them silly till they do not know what is what.

I'd say go for Balance. While it's good to have high physicals and other cool things, at the end of the day, that shit doesn't matter if you can't keep your ass upright for 30 seconds.

Ah to be young again. Young rookie, there is no most important stat. All the stats are important and work together in order to help a player achieve success in the sim.

The most important stat for new players definitely has to be Stamina. To a certain degree. I find it takes 13-15 stamina to play a whole game at a high level (where your other stats come into play), and also where your game to game fitness will be at a sufficient level so that you won't start the next game at 75% fitness. At the junior level, it is hard to get stamina to 15, but the higher your stamina, the more your player will be able to perform.
