Player prompt

Svoboda's career is still young but it's certainly already had many ups and downs. It started with him flying a bit under the radar of most SMJHL teams before his draft. Despite a fair bit of potential, his unknown status as well as the strong draft class caused him to drop to round 2 where the newly created Regina Elk picked him up.
Over his four seasons there he established himself as one of the top players on the team, culminating in 60 and 59 point seasons. His last season with the team saw Regina have some potential to make some noise in the playoffs, but he ultimately ended his junior career on a low note, having not won a single playoff series with the team.
From there Svoboda moved on to the LA Panthers in the SHL, where he made an immediate impact. Scoring 42 points in his rookie season, he helped the team capture their first Challenge Cup in almost 60 seasons. From there he's continued to improve to a respectable 71 points just last season. Unfortunate for Svoboda is that his team is now deep in a rebuild, and he'll have to do his best to at least keep improving on a personal level.

The career of Zayne Dangle has been a lot like a roller coaster. It started off with a very promising career his rookie season in SMJHL with the Colorado Raptors. After a great rookie season he hit a sophmore slump and was traded to The Detroit Falcons before his 4th season. At the same time there was turn over in Montreal leading to a trade to Buffalo as well. Two trades in two seasons was really shaking things up. He did have a rebound year of sorts his final SMJHL season with Detroit before being called up and ending what was a rather average career in the juniors. Hoping things would be different in Buffalo is was more of the same. His rookie campaign was average and while Buffalo went deep into the playoffs he continued to be almost invisible at times. The same grit that was once there as a young hungry player was slowly disappearing. Going into the S67 season BUF was expected to be top in the division and making deep playoff runs. Instead a first round sweep left a lot to be desired. Will Dangle finally turn things around?

Potential Spam came into the league right after the draft so he kind of slid under the radar but generated enough buzz to get an offer from the Kelowna Knights in time for preseason. In his first season Spam put up decent numbers getting into double digits for both goals and assists while getting a few takeaways and shot blocks for good measure. He did have some trouble staying out of the penalty box but he performed well enough to be drafted by Atlanta with the last pick in the first round In that second year though productivity took a big dip as goals were halved despite generating more shots and seeing an increase in ice time. There is a lot of uncertainty still heading into his third year in the juniors. With another new d pairing Potential Spam is looking to turn things around and try and grow into his role now that he is one of the more senior members of the team.

Lets start where it all began. In S63 SMJHL draft. I was drafted to St Louis Scarecrows as a fresh rookie, ears still wet looking to help the struggling organization to bring some hardware home again! My first and second years went dragging, but in my third year after the GMs making good draft picks and trading for good players we started to compete! Unfortunately we couldn't get to the finals that season, but the team was fired up and ready to go for gold next season. Luckily we didn't loose many important players to SHL that offseason, and I even told my GMs that I wanted to stay to help the team. Unfortunately we couldn't get gold, but we put up hell of a fight and felt satisfied. It was time to say my farewells to the team and go to the big leagues, and move to New England, The team that drafted me in season 64 draft

Well the New England Wolfpack themed coaster just has to be named The Pack. I am not sure why, but that is the best I can come up with at this time. We will go ahead and call it wolf themed, for obvious reasons. Maybe we have wolves nipping at your heels if you are slow boarding the coaster to keep things moving. And if you are sitting on the railing, wolves. Wolves everywhere.

As far as the coaster goes, it will be just ok for now. But we promise it will be better in a few years as we keep working on it Smile We will have Gritty running the coaster and rather than telling people the rules when they board, he will just be dancing in some awkward way and pointing at a sign that says "Do not do stupid shit or you can die". Feel like it probably would not last long, but I think it will at least be news worthy if only for the memes.

Creative prompt:

Here at the Philadelphia Forge we are going to use the opportunity to team up with the fantasy Epic the Lord of the Rings and make a Forge/Mines of Moria cross themed roller coaster. Everything will be painted hot colours like red, orange and yellow and it will be one of the fastest roller coasters on the planet earth rivalling the top speed of 240kmh set by the coaster Formula Rossa. It will have corkscrews and straight aways that have giant hammers swinging across the tracks however the centrepiece will be something truly epic. A giant blast furnace that radiates extreme heat throughout the ride as well as a slag pot that will pour molten metal that will shower down on either side of the ride as the carts hurtle around the course. We may have some problems getting all these ideas past OSHA but much like the city of Philadelphia itself danger is our middle name and come hell or high water we will get it done.

Quote:Written Task: Describe the most incredible roller coaster you can that's themed like your SHL/SMJHL team. What does it do, what does it look like, and why are people going to pay double the regular ticket price to be able to ride it before they watch the game? How are you going to include your teams branding and overall vibe? (150+ words)

Well, describing a roller coaster would be a tad hard because that's usually the sort of stuff you'd only be able to show by representing it graphically... I guess we could start by painting it red and black, preferably mostly black with red accents to give it more of an edge. Maybe not too black so it's not mixed up with a theoretical XFL ride. Then probably add some bull decals so that it's able to show off the team's branding. I guess some curves would be cool too, make it spin a little bit so that we're not too off. I'd also focus on making it safe enough for everyone, be long enough of a ride so they don't feel ripped off and then make it sure it's near food stands and toilets so whoever rides it doesn't have a bad time or anything.

...No idea, I don't think I've ever played Rollercoaster Tycoon, to be honest with ya.

The roller coaster for the Manhattan Rage will be the Raging Bull that wraps around the stadium and will right over the main entrance of the building. At the entrance there will be two gigantic red bulls in charging stance, every time a roller coaster train goes through the cork screw, smoke billows out of the noses of the bulls. The rails are red and black and is an inverted track where the passengers ride underneath the track and their feet dangle. The first climb of the ride goes up the side of the arena, up the 150' then quickly banks to the right and drops down the side gaining enough speed to go into a double loop that is also curving with the arena. It twists and turns around the building like a caterpillar climbing around on an apple. It gets to the top of the building and does some quick "bucking" up downs, then ends with a drop off the side as it corkscrews to the front entrance only to turn back and hit the breaks into the station.

For being the best of Koivu brothers, Paul Koivu's career has been pretty underwhelming. His very high ,in terms of team performance, was in his second season with the Anchorage Armada, where they reached the finals of the simulation major junior hockey league, against the Newfoundland Berserkers, but this was in the season where the Berserkers were absolutely dominating the league and the Armada had no chance to win. Then, in season 63, Paul had his best junior season, where he won the Brandon Holmes trophy, for being the best defensive forward, and he got his most points in a junior season, with 47. On New England, in the Simulation Hockey League, he never really found any success on the team side. The team finally made playoffs after 2 seasons of missing them while Paul was on the team. In his second season, Paul actually almost achieved point per game, where he reached 63 points, which allowed him to be chosen for the All-Star team.

The attraction will be named the fire birdy. The first step to building the rollercoaster would be to create a huge volcano around the Atlanta arena. The rails of the coaster will be built around the volcano and the big drop will enter the volcano and go next to the lava. It will be very scary for the riders. The rails will be built in adamantium, this way we will be sure that the ride keeps its structural integrity. But the owners can't guarantee that people will survive their thrill.  The rollercoaster wagons will be bird-shaped. This way we keep the branding represented. The ticket will be very expensive because building a volcano in Atlanta is kind of expensive. The team will need a lot of permits to build it. The Atlanta ownership is sure that the fan will enjoy riding the fire birdy.

An external firm is not so sure about the project. They think that the team will lose too many fans.

Rikkert Biemans has been in the juniors for three seasons so far. He was drafted by Kelowna Knights, but during the third season he felt like he could do better with another team and was traded to the St. Louis Scarecrows. That trade looked very promising as Biemans scoring took off. During the playoffs it looked like St. Louis was going to do very well, but in the end wasn’t good enough to reach the final. They lost in game 7 in the conference finals. At that point Rikkert Biemans had a huge dilemma. Stay in the juniors for another season or be called up to his SHL team Montreal Patriotes. After some discussion between family and friends he chose the latter. So his SHL debut is coming up real soon. During the last off season Biemans won gold in the World Juniors with Germany which won its third gold in a row.

Well it doesn't take much imagination at all to turn the Philadelphia Forge brand into a kick ass rollercoaster. The brand is practically made up with something of the sort in mind and the various parts and pieces and contraptions that make an iron smelting forge lend themselves incredibly well to some theme park action.
We start off at the loading dock where the passengers are loaded into what look very much like coal carts the like you might see in an old mine. The track then takes us on a tour through the process of iron smelting, zig-zaging between the blazing hot furnaces, then a horizontal spiral along and around a shute of molten iron , then a climb all the way to the top of the tall smoking chimneys and for the finale the mandatory steep drop that seems to go all the way into the cooling pool, only to be diverted at the very last moment and reach the safety of home base.

After 69 shots on net with still no SHL goals to show for it, even the opposition started to feel so sorry for Lemo, that they decided to help him out :D
- Bad pass by Jack Klompus, he gave it right to Lemo Pihl.
- Lemo Pihl rips it to the net...
- Lemo Pihl will find the empty net, that should do it!

Ragnar has so far been delighted with how his career has shaped out. From a late round pick into the SMJHL to a spot among the top defenders in the league in terms of points. He exceeded every expectation he had placed upon himself heading into his rookie season of the SMJHL earning his spot on the first defensive pairing in Nevada. Following that he was picked within the top 15 of the SHL draft, a steady jump from where he was picked going into the Juniors and landed on a team with some of his favourite people from the lower league, specifically Viktor, Ignacio, Barefoot, and Toasty, not to mention the plethora of amazing people on the team already. The success hasnt slowed him down however as he has strived to prove hes one of the best of this star studded class working his ass off to become one of the most in shape players of the group.
