Option 2:

Hampus got really into the winter Olympics when it was on, watching every event and cheering on the Finland team as loud as anybody. From the long and kind of boring cross country events to the super exciting and dangerous skeleton and of course the national hockey team, he was watching everything. Out of everything though, watching the winter games made Hampus really get into curling. He went to a curling place as soon as the games ended and tried it out. He already knows his way around a slick surface so he figured he'd be a shoe-in for curling. Turns out he's pretty terrible but had a blast! From the sweeping to the actual throwing, he was pretty bad at everything. He kept practicing for about a month before finally winning a friendly match but in the off-season he wants to try again. Maybe you'll see this hockey player at the Olympics soon for not playing hockey (and hopefully for hockey too)

Written Option 1:

NoNo Jo grew up in Denver, CO. It snows there. It ices there. It is cold there. Of COURSE he played ice hockey. He even played it a la Lorali Gilmore where he made a rink in his yard by slowly filling an area with water and as it iced he would add more until he had a bonafide little ice rink. Obviously it was not registration size but he was a kid so it felt like it to him. He is very excited to play the Winter Classic Game. He loves the cold and he loves new experiences. He will be living in a blast from the past. Yeah of course it will bring in more revenue but the players and the fans alike will enjoy it. I don’t mind who the opponent would be, but it would be great to have it in NoNo Jo’s hometown of Denver Colorado. The only other thing that I want from the event is a nice hot cup of cocoa and a soft pretzel with salt and mustard.

In his hometown of [REDACTED] the winters are [REDACTED] and therefore Big Sweg could spend [REDACTED] time on the outdoor ice. This lead him to be [redacted] when it comes to the outdoor skating skills. One thing is for certain though, nothing beats the indoor rinks. Big Sweg has no problem doing the outdoor ice games and it is a great way for fans to see them as they can be played on bigger stadiums, like those of the NFL. It also sells a lot of merch which in turn makes sure that Big Sweg gets paid. There is also the awesome opportunity for Big Sweg to get some more traction for his company, which of course focuses on the art of ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET. Outdoor games is a perfect opportunity fro some hot, delicious ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET. Everybody needs to eat and what is better than some amazing ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET to keep you warm and full the entire game?

Written Option 2:

Niclas Sundqvist is a winter sports person at heart. When he grew up, it was all about the winter sports. He never did anything more related to the summer like football. Instead he was invested into three sports. Hockey (of course), cross country skiing and curling. As he grew up, his interests shifted and more and more focus was put into hockey, to the detriment of the other two sports. As a man still on ice a lot, curling still attracts Sundqvist and sometimes he finds himself in a curling game as a pasttime/relaxation. Sometimes, when daydreaming, he also reflects over how his life would have been as a cross country skier. He was decent at the sport when he left it, and with some more dedication could probably have gotten quite good. It did not fit his natural physique as hockey does however, so the results would probably have been much more difficult to achieve and choosing hockey as the career is most likely the correct choice in the end.

Option 1

Should the Minnesora Monarchs be selected to play in the annual Winter Classic, Julian Flörsch would love to play the Winnipeg Aurora at the baseball stadium of the Minnesota Twins, in their honetown Minneapolis. A few seasons ago, we couldn't have a playoffs appearance without having to play the Aurora So revisiting that streak for an epic outdoor battle in front of a massive crowd would definitely be something to be remembered by players and fans.

Overall, Julian is a big supporter of these special types of games. Whether its outdoor games in big stadium, Mystery, Alaska-style outdoor games on a pond, or fundraising events like teddybear-tosses, veteran-appreciation nights, LGBTQ support matches or even just the annual Halloween event, they always bring something special to the atmosphere around the match which has an effect on the players on the ice. In an ideal situation, it wouldnt be used as a way to get more revenue from a game but any profit exceeding a regular games' profit should flow back into the community, like local charities or improvement of the area around the arena.

I think an outdoor game in front of 50,000 or more fans would be incredible, especially if it was done at Fenway or Gillette stadium in Boston. It’s one thing to play in front of that many opposing fans, but that many fans in your home stadium would be absolutely electrifying. Ongo did get to skate on outdoor ice as a kid. It gets cold enough in Philadelphia (I think?) to maintain an outdoor rink. Nothing beats the sting of the cold air on your nose hairs as you’re cruising on the ice at a brisk pace while playing a little 3 on 3. The only thing that sucked was shooting the puck over the boards and having to go out in the knee deep snow and try and find it. Bonus difficulty points if it was night time. Trying to find a puck sized hole in knee deep snow in the dark is next to impossible. Anyway, that’s not something you’d have to worry about at a legit winter classic game obviously.

2:

Brayden Point is interested in a few sports. One of which is a new concept of winter golf where half the struggle is finding a white ball lost in the snow. Outside of winter gold Brayden Point is interested in snow boarding although he does not do it often due to risk of injury in his main career of hockey. Have no doubt that Brayden Point is a great snow boarder but he does not want to risk something happen that could jinx his career before winning some cups! Growing up he would snow board with his family and friends and it is way better than skiing. For those that do not know skiing is considered more of the rich snobby version of going down a mountain (no offense if you do ski but everyone knows snow boarding is better.) In a alt time line Brayden Point would have tried for the Olympics and shot for a gold medal. He is born to compete in some form but this is the best timeline because it includes the best sport ever hockey!!! Brayden Point is on a mission to win the cups for Tampa and when he puts his mind to it he makes it happen.

Written Task Option 1
Growing up in Vancouver and Riga, Rodrigo Banes had ample opportunity to skate and play organized hockey on outdoor rinks. A family tradition includes an annual trip to the interior of British Columbia in the dead of winter, to skate on the crystal clear ice of Dragon Lake.

However, the opportunity to play an official outdoor SHL game in his professional career is a huge one, and Roddy considers it a tremendous honour. For him, it hearkens backs to an earlier time, and fills him with those warm, comforting memories from childhood nostalgia. Additionally, the sounds and overall feel of an outdoor rink add so much to the ambience of a hockey game that he can only describe the feelings, and the experience as truly magical.

Ideally, he would love to face off against one of the Montreal Patriotes' perennial rivals: either the New England Wolfpack, or the Buffalo Stampede. With a history of exciting matchups with both franchises, he believes either one would make an exciting and compelling Winter Classic opponent.

I think the winter classic is a great event for players and fans alike. While the event definitely is a sort of cash grab for the league, that does not mean it has to be a bad thing. Its really cool to play in a unique venue in an outdoor game. And even though the winter classic is just another regular season game, the spectacle of it all makes it feel like it means more. The uniform changes are another amazing part of the winter classic. Seeing teams take old uniforms from their history and reimagine them through the modern lens is always interesting and a lot of the time we get some beautiful jersey designs. Overall, i think that while the winter classic is just a spectacle created by the league to make more money, its still a great event that players and fans alike can appreciate and put that extra energy into.

Prompt 1

Pork Tenderloin never really had the chance to play outdoor hockey growing up in Atlanta. It never really got cold enough for him to be able to go out onto a lake or anything like that or even for a backyard rink. To compound that he also did grow up in a lab given that his coming into existence was the result of a science experiment to see if cuts of meat could become sentient. Now, that being said, playing in the winter classic would be an honor to a guy like Pork Tenderloin. It would be so cool to be able to go out and see that huge crowd in an outdoor venue, hopefully with some snow falling at the time of the game. It would be the highlight of his career to be able to make the New England fans proud in one of the most special games in all of hockey.

Prompt 1

Growing up in the maritimes provided ample opportunity for Jack St. Clair to get out on some frozen ponds and lakes almost everyday. When he wasn't working on school, he was working on his hockey skills, sometimes braving the bitter cold to do it. While playing for the Quebec Citadelles back in his Junior days, Jack would often go for skates at the local outdoor rinks and maybe even scrimmaged a few times against some fans.

If he could pick the team to play against, it would have to be the Edmonton Blizzard and played in Edmonton. To him, this is the ultimate hockey experience. Playing the game he loves so much, in brisk air, in front of a stadium full of the fans that were there for him at the start of his career, and the fans that are there for him now. I think it would be a pretty special experience for any player to get an opportunity like this. To have the spotlight on them and a chance to shine.
