Verification word: Space! Written Prompts: Code: 5. 8 of the top 10 players by TPE on SFP are forwards, meanwhile 4 of the 6 TBB Defensemen are part of the top 10 players by TPE. Do you think it’s more important to have a core of powerful forwards or a core of incredible defensemen? I don't know what the feeling is like around the league, but I believe having good forwards is far more important. I think retaining possession in the offensive zone and creating scoring chances are the most important things. I don't know enough about FHM and how it works to say if this is a FHM thing, or the way we use it. Not to say that you can't have success with good defense, but I think it's easier with a strong forward group. (83 words) Code: 8. Who you got? Who wins the Challenge Cup or Four Star Cup? Why? Even though it's already decided, my answer would have been the same. San Francisco is the obvious favorite. It's a bit unfortunate that this season ended with such a predictable result. I don't think this is an indication that we have a parity problem, necessarily. I think the bigger issue is predictability. The league just isn't interesting if the outcome feels predetermined. In my view, the issue is how much impact coaching has in the league. Coaching is incredibly important to FHM as a game, it's a GM and coaching game, so of course it is. So in the SHL, if you have the strongest roster and also very good coaching, arguably the best in the league, this makes you very hard to beat. I wish we could reduce the impact coaching had closer to what it was like with STHS, but I don't know how popular that would be around the league. (153 words) Code: 11. Written, 50 to 200+ words. It's About Time The obvious answer is Texas overperforming, but I'd rather highlight Montreal. While they were pretty good, I do think they underperformed slightly. They have a strong group of forwards. I was really pulling for them to make the finals this season. Next season I think they're going to be very nasty. Another season of earning with their roster looks very dangerous. I think if they hold their roster as it is, they could be a favorite in the East, and I'll likely pick them to make the finals again. Well, for one, the San Francisco Pride have BW at the helm GMing. Think a lot of folks would skate through a brick wall if they had to for that gal, pretty great. So they've got that extra edge. For another, it seems like the Pride have just been wildly consistent performers. Some teams choke when they make it to the show, but the Pride just keep chugging along and treading the path to the finals. Maybe they had an easier path to the finals, maybe they didn't. It could just be that RNGesus just really likes lions. Who wouldn't? I'd probably adopt a big kitty if I could. Anyways, you could have the best team of all time and still get screwed horribly by dice rolls in the sim so it's a thought. I don't have many theories to offer for Tampa Bay. They maybe don't enjoy the same consistency and seem to take a scrappier route, but I figure they'll get it done eventually. I have no evidence or stats to back that up, just figure they're probably about due. The more times you play the more chances to win so it's probable, right? I don't know, I'm not even close to being an expert in this stuff, just writing words for some teeps. Code: 13. Written, 50 to 200+ words. Old Reliable IIHF Analysis Nobody should sleep on Team France, we've got a great group of players with the determination to grab hold of that sweet sweet d'or one day. Maybe it won't happen this season, but we're on the right path. Probably. I don't actually know, I'm just going based off of what they tell me. Maybe we're living a lie. But I love them so it's ok if we are. ![]() thank you amid, swoosh and eni for sigs! <3 ![]() Registered Senior Member
6.) Jayson is gonna be very engaged into the game, but also having conversations. Be elegant, it’s the commissioner of the league. Most of the time that person wants it to be as professional as possible. You’ll probably think the conversations would be thrown for a loop with jokes and interesting takes made, but honestly conversation would just be about hockey. (Maybe about Buffalo of late) it would be interesting to watch games live with 3D versions of the players. It would bring another element to how to actually watch games. As far as how it would go with how my player would act. I think I would just be engaged in the game. Just from a fan’s perspective. It’s not at all hard to get involved even as a neutral fan. It’s never hard for me to get into hockey. Hockey is just fun, and playoff hockey well. That’s even better.
9.) Tampa, easily Tampa would throw the most banger parties. Listen I love San Francisco, but come on it’s Tampa, Florida. It’s right across the bridge from St. Petersburg. If you really like to get into the city Ybor City is one of the greatest places to go for parades, food, and partying. College parties are right down the street as well. I can never say enough about Tampa parties. Now if I am to play devil’s advocate. San Francisco, California would be a really fun place to throw a party next to some of the most notable features of the city, but if I’m being honest San Francisco just doesn’t have the food that I love from particularly Tampa. Because they have some of the best fish catches, they make some delicious meals out of reptiles and if you wanna get into the best part of Tampa. The beaches….no California has beaches, but not like Florida. You see Florida beaches are refreshing. There is never a time where I went to Florida and not loved the views and scenery with the beautiful weather. Just don’t go to either spot during the summer. Way too hot. 12. It is an interesting conversation because you have to protect certain players and the ones you don’t abruptly leave and it puts in an awkward relationship for player and manager. I’d argue that teams should base who they protect off of what is best for their team. Protecting a 14 season old player doesn’t exactly get the job done because of regression and it doesn’t give you a good chance at the window in the future. Protecting younger players and max gainers and most active locker room players. Because it keeps the team in a well constructed manner. t ![]() Registered Senior Member

Yum PROMPTS: 2. Which team has had the easier road to the cup finals? Do you think they could have made it to the finals if they were in a different division? Well I think San Francisco had an easier path going to the finals, being the top seeded team in their conference and facing Winnipeg in the first round. Even though they had a bit of a weak start against them, they flexed their way past them once they got their game on. Going through the declining Panthers was a bit of a challenge then taking out New Orleans en route to the finals, all three series in six games. Looking at Tampa Bay though, what a cinderella run they had. Starting as the 5th seed, they've taken out all the teams ranked ahead of them, including the top seeded Atlanta Inferno. I do think San Francisco would have had just about an equal challenge if they were in the east, but Tampa Bay, I'm not so sure they get as lucky. While they may have gotten out out of the first and maybe second rounds, I'm not sure they could have defeated New Orleans. 164 words, 3 tpe. 3. The duo of Dominik Winters and Logan Webb currently lead SFP in scoring this postseason and have been top 10 in SHL scoring for the past three seasons. What makes them so special, and what does it mean for them to stay on top as a duo rather than a single successful player? It's no secret the a top tier and experienced duo is a key to obtaining playoff success. Both are equally skilled and have the knowledge and Cup-winning experience to dominate plays, find open teammates and get those game-changing goals. It's important to simply consider the importance of "duos", even if they aren't on the same line. Looking in the NHL, McDavid/Draisaitl, Crosby/Malkin, Stamkos/Kucherov, Matthews/Marner just to name a few. If they're on the same lines, that's two players to try and shut down and if they're on different lines, it creates favorable matchups if their linemates are effective enough to start and finish plays. 108 words, 2 tpe 5. 8 of the top 10 players by TPE on SFP are forwards, meanwhile 4 of the 6 TBB Defensemen are part of the top 10 players by TPE. Do you think it’s more important to have a core of powerful forwards or a core of incredible defensemen? I think it's important to have a balanced lineup, but two old adages come up when I think about this... Defense wins championships, and the best defense is a great offense. While both teams are constructed opposite to each other, they both made their own ways to the finals, twice in a row now. That must mean both approaches are highly efficient. 62 words, 1 tpe. 12. Expansion is once again a season closer and will potentially lead to each team losing three or four players. How do you think missing these players will impact different teams? Will it knock down the current competitors or maybe mess up the raising challengers? Do you expect those teams be able to recover with the assets available for them or do we finally see free agent movement like never before? What teams you would predict to be in cup contention for S83 and why? I think it depends on each expansion GMs team building philosophy. Do they focus more on active locker room presences? Are they focusing more on positional advantages? Could they be looking at snapping up higher tpe players to compete sooner or take lower tpe players to build for the longer term? There are four teams and any one of those GMs could blend either strategy into their ideal philosophy and start from there. As for assuming who could be a winner in the J in two seasons time, it's way too soon to tell since this expansion throws a wrench into whatever plans they may have had. 107 words, 2 tpe. ![]() ![]() 837 TPE

sburb 5: From my time as a GM, I've found that offense wins championships in FHM. Now I only won one 4-star on my tenure but I've always seen that the best regular season success comes from teams with high offense TPE. Now in the playoffs I'm not convinced anything matters and it's all a dice roll weighted to higher TPE but some people get lucky while other don't. I don't want to bring down the pride because what they've done is incredible but a lot of it is luck. We've had high TPE teams come in and do nothing, it's really just whatever FHM feels like that day. But to circle back I would much rather have high offense TPE than defense TPE, it weighs the dice slightly in your favor. The only thing you need is a goalie to stand on their head over and over and the cup is yours, just score lots of goals and win games ,defense doesn't matter in FHM8. 10. Winning cups isn't the goal of this league and thinking it is as a GM led to me getting burned out when the FHM coin flip failed me. Trying to always win creates a toxic environment and makes people angry at the dumbest stuff. The point is to make friends, build a community and make active teams that have fun together on discord, having all those things in the locker room also leads to winning cups. Having an active locker room is the most important part of having a successful team, it keeps people active and earning while at the same time makes the discord welcoming to new people and brings in people that are willing to help with the administration stuff and makes it easier on the GMs to focus and more stuff. So what San Fransisco and Tampa Bay are doing any differently is making teams with active users that support each other to earn TPE and have a good time. Consistently doing PTs takes work and that work is much easier when there is a supportive locker room. ![]() ![]() Registered Daft Chipmunk Code: 1. TRIVA - 3TPE boop Code: 2. Which team has had the easier road to the cup finals? Do you think they could have made it to the finals if they were in a different division? My knee-jerk reaction was San Francisco, but I think it may actually have been Tampa Bay now that I look at the brackets. SFP's biggest hurdle has always been in the first round, whereas from what I can glean TBB went through a gauntlet. They had two series go to 7 games, and the other two went to six. That said, I do think SFP has the nightmare division right now, and that the western conference is the stronger of the two (for now). So in this hypothetical, SFP would likely make it through the east, and TBB would have a much harder time, though I do still believe they'd make it. Code: 3. The duo of Dominik Winters and Logan Webb currently lead SFP in scoring this postseason and have been top 10 in SHL scoring for the past three seasons. What makes them so special, and what does it mean for them to stay on top as a duo rather than a single successful player? Those two are basically attached at the hip, so it shouldn't be a surprise that every season they put in results in something special. I remember when "The Kid Line" debuted in San Francisco and how the trio that includes other key player Levin Schattenaxt were obviously building something great together. While Vik/Oskar have always had a bit of a rotating cast on the other wing, those three have never played apart in the SHL. Chemistry definitely plays a part in their on-ice performance, but I honestly think they just brought the power of friendship and infected the entire team with it. It's canon now that I've said it. Code: 5. 8 of the top 10 players by TPE on SFP are forwards, meanwhile 4 of the 6 TBB Defensemen are part of the top 10 players by TPE. Do you think it’s more important to have a core of powerful forwards or a core of incredible defensemen? FHM-wise, unfortunately, it's more important to have a good core of forwards. Outscore all of your problems, and you too can win cups. But I'm hoping with the shift to FHM 10 (I could be coping) that I'll get to say a great defensive core is more essential. TBB's d-core is positively terrifying, and I wish the game engine would do them real justice accordingly. ![]() Registered Posting Freak

Between the two teams that are currently in the Finals for SHL, the San Francisco Pride will easily have the more banger party when compared to the Tampa Bay Barracudas. Just think about it visually, one is a jungle theme where as the other is a water theme. One is the king of the Jungle (lions) whereas the other is not even the king of their ocean (barracudas). Just with those facts alone, the San Francisco Pride which feature the lions as their theme will have some of the most raunchy and bone-shattering parties. I think everyone will be out of their minds and just going crazy. Just think about the jungle party in Riu resorts and think of that. The san francisco players will probably go on all fours and start roaring to impress the judges. However, if the Winnipeg Aurora somehow made the finals, then we would all dress up as polar bears and drink polar ice vodka on the hockey rink and astonish the judges.Boyka III as a russian, has it in his genes to down the vodka bottle like water so for him it is just like any other day. The rest will be playing drunken hockey and go crazy. 200 words--> 4 tpe 2. There is no doubt in anyon'es minds that the San Francisco Pride had the easier playoff run. I mean they were the top team in the whole league and were way above anybody else. THey are the two time consecutive champs and have held such a reputation in the league recently. The west is actually pretty mediocre at the moment, and one can say the San Francisco Pride were never challenged during this whole playoff run. I mean just look at all of their series. They won every single series in a 6 game match. It is like they teased their opponents by giving them 2 wins just to win it all right before it gets to the nail-biting 7 game series. I will go as far as to say they even gifted their opponents the two wins just to give them a handicap to make it somewhat even. They are just that much better than the entire league. This is a crazy contrast with that of Tampa Bay Barracudas. This team was sweating blood to make it this far. They weren't even the top 3 team in their league but yet managed to get this far. It is their hunger as barracudas that landed them this spot. They even had several nerve wrecking 7 game series. However, when it came to face the real deal in San Francisco Pride, they were no match. Thus, even if Tampa Bay Barracuda played somehow in the west instead, their fate would have been to play the Pride nonetheless and they would have still lost. So it makes no difference how these teams got to where they are because inevitably, there is only 1 champion, the Pride, who are the 3 times consecutive champions ~300 words--> 4 tpe Total 8 tpe ![]() ![]() Registered Posting Freak

13. I predict that Finland will win gold this IIHF. We've got a strong team, that only continues to grow stronger. We've got a great forward and DEF core, the only thing potentially lacking may be our goalies in decline - although Rhett "Shaggy" Carpet remains a strong goalie, and goalies are truly voodoo in Franchise Hockey Manager. I think Finland has shown that we have what it takes to win, we've just gotten some bad seeding luck when it comes to single elimination games, and as such have underperformed the past few seasons. But I have faith in the process and believe we will win it this year. IIHF is very hard to predict though, and it really is anyone's tournament to win - from getting lucky bounces in single elimination to good seedings or favourable groups in round robin, anything can happen and it's truly hard to predict. All I can do is hope that we win gold for Seppanen's legacy. (159 words, +3 TPE) 12. I think the Atlanta Inferno hockey team of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the Simulation Hockey League, otherwise known as the SHL, will do a good job at navigating the expansion draft process. This is very much a homer pick, but I truly think we've built something good here and are backed by a really competent GM capable of working with people. We also have a good roster, and it'll be sad to lose anyone, but I think we'll be able to navigate fine - whether through trades to fill gaps created or smart drafting and an even more motivated locker room, motivated to earn harder and to offset the impacts of the loss of our friends and teammates. What could the other team have done differently to change the result? What was your favorite part of the series? Honestly, it was a hard fought series, but the San Franscisco Pride came away with the win over the Tampa Bay Barracuda. It pains me to say it, but there’s always next year, right? Honestly, @hockeyiscool aka Dwight Knight has always been working his ass off behind the scenes and for sure has something up his sleeve to make sure that they take it all next year, but he’s just been unlucky yet again this season. If anyone deserves to win a title, its Dwight, with all the work he’s done day in and day out to make sure that his team has the best chances to succeed. San Francisco just happens to have their number, and I assume it has to be some crazy sim shenanigans, right? Right?... I just know though, that Dwight has something in his bag of bags, and his heart of hearts to make sure that he is going to get where he needs to be next season with the Barracuda and to make sure that they can finally get over that hump and win the whole damn thing. 4. Depth players are worth it I would argue, if you are looking to push either doing a full rebuild or a slight rebuild to get a new core of players on the team a bit further down the road. They still have a bit more TPE than the newer players but they also have something that the newer players will not have for a good while: chemistry. Chemistry is so important and being able to have decent enough players with strong chemistry will keep a third line performing well above their paygrade, and is absolutely worth the cost, as seen by Tampa Bay's performance in recent seasons. - 107 words, +2 TPE, 5/8 Total 5. Franchise hockey manager 8 has shown to repeatedly favor offense over defense, and so without a doubt having a strong core of forwards is more important than having a strong core of defenseman. Not to diss on defenseman, they are still very important, but it is just how franchise hockey manager does things. - 53 words, +1 TPE, 6/8 Total 12. It really depends on how much control the expansion GMs have over which players they get to take. If they can take whoever they want a lot of teams are going to get hit hard, most likely losing some very good players and having to figure out how to plug new holes in their lines. On the other hand, if they have less control I think teams that have older rosters will be hit harder. Teams that recently drafted a bunch of new players are not losing someone with a ton of experience, and those players are more easily replaced than older players. - 103 words, +2 TPE, 8/8 Total ![]() SHL GM Lives on halušky

3 TPE Code: 4. in my experience in this league, which admittedly is very brief, even the best players will benefit incredibly strongly from good line chemistry and having a strong supporting cast around them that keeps the pressure on the opposing team. I’m not shocked to see veteran players who are heavily in regression still putting up solid numbers, especially on a powerhouse like Tampa Bay, because those players have established strong chemistry with one another, and Tampa Bay has put together a competitive roster that takes some of the pressure off of them to perform on any given night. if your team is applying pressure all three periods throughout all three lines. It means that those guys who have been around in the league and are perhaps slowing down a bit are facing a more exhausted opposition and in turn they might encounter more scoring opportunities. A top heavy team can only play their best skaters for so many minutes in a game and being able to keep up with the performance regardless makes a huge difference over the course of a long season and certainly in the playoffs. Code: 5. as much as I would like to say that defense is the key to winning championships, it seems safe to say that San Francisco has at least made it an uphill argument against having a strong forward core. I respect the team the Tampa Bay has built, but when you have essentially three top lines that are playing 60 minutes a night, it’s hard to imagine even the best of defenses being able to hold up against that over the course of a playoff series, and I think that is a major part of why we have seen San Francisco makes such a major run over the past few seasons. At the end of the day, I think there is an important balance to be struck but if you’re gonna go all in, it seems that offense is the key. Total: 8 TPE ![]() ![]() Registered Posting Freak Code: 1.
