9. Written, 50 to 200+ words. Balancing It Out
Four out of top 5 teams in the league were from teams in the West but East took all spots from 6 to 11. This is also pretty clear when you look at selection of players that made the All-star game, West being more focused on those few teams on top while East has more balanced approach with 5 teams sending two or more players. Which of the teams you expect to win the game and why?
I think the answer here is the East but it isn’t an obvious one. The distribution of “top 5 teams” and “top 11” teams makes complete sense between the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. The West has a few teams that are just beginning to exit a rebuild, as well as some teams entering a rebuild quite hard. None of this has anything to do with the actual PLAYERS on these teams, but just the standings. There is a great representation of all teams in the all star game this year, but the parity and standings wont be the same in the East vs West for quite some time.
The Dragons and Argonauts are two teams that have essentially just completed rebuilds. In fact they’ve already made the playoffs for multiple seasons now and even gotten an upset series! But the point is that they have nowhere to go but up as their young players continue to earn. Chicago, Minnesota, Edmonton, and Winnipeg are all in another tier where they are somewhere a little further back than Seattle and Calgary. Obviously the Renegades, Panthers, Specters, and Pride are feasting on all these rebuilding teams in the Western Conference. But no matter where these teams compare to the opposite conference, there are plenty of all star spots available for the individual contributors.

8. Written, 50 to 200+ words. The Teammate One
Tell me about your teammate who made the all star game! Who are they, why were they an obvious choice to make the All Star roster, and what do you expect from them this ASG? (If more than one of your teammates made the game, pick one of those players other than yourself. If you are the only player on your team selected for the all star game so far, write about your team's candidate for last man instead.)
Puts on sunglasses, “It’s Zedward, bitch”. How many words does it take for me to explain that the top TPE player in the whole damn league deserves an all star game spot? About 50 I’d say! TPE aside, ol Zeddy was #6 in defensemen goals, 3rd in shots, and 4th in PPG’s. So its not really just about giving TPE merchants accolades, Zedward has gotten it done on the ice as well. He ended up being 1 point shy of his career best in points, however I bet its destined to be broken next year.

6/ Ever since her childhood, Sonja has been a huge fan of Soccer and more than likely if it wasn't for her twin sister Frøya, she would have at the very least tried her luck in it too. And with her mentality, there is also a good chance of her at least becoming a pro. Of course Hockey eventually grew on her and now she would not want to trade her Hockey career for a Soccer career, she still loves to play it occassionally. She also greatly enjoys learning new tricks that she usually tries to show to her twin sister Frøya. Sure she is not exactly trying to impress her or anything, she just likes to share her interest with her and that includes the stuff she learns. And one of those tricks that she has spent a long time practicing was a "rainbow flick" which is basically when you hold the ball between your ankle and your feet and flick it up behind yourself to than have the ball go over your head and land infront of you. Sonja have tried this trick so many times that she have lost count. So when she finally managed to learn it, it's safe to say she was very excited about it. (210 words = 4 TPE)
10/ While the votes are not yet finalized, Sonja is among one of the potential finalists for the last player in as a forward in the west conference. Given that she is only 4 points shy of her sister Frøya who got into the all-star game and that she played better defensively with less giveaways, more takeaways, blocks and hits, there is a good chance for Sonja to be among the last players voted in. #6. +1 Tony Soprano takes up cooking, inspired by his love for gabagool and Italian cuisine. Though his first attempts at making pasta are chaotic, he persists, eventually mastering his own “Soprano Special” sauce. Cooking becomes a relaxing escape and a way to bond with teammates during pasta nights, strengthening their camaraderie.
#11. +4 Hosting the SHL All-Star Game in Hawaii would be a bold and exciting way to grow the game in a non-traditional market. While Hawaii might not be known for its hockey culture, its unique location and appeal as a tropical paradise make it an ideal spot for showcasing the sport to new audiences. The event could draw tourists and locals alike, providing a fresh and vibrant backdrop that contrasts with the usual cold, snowy environments associated with hockey.
An exhibition game in Hawaii could serve as a cultural exchange, blending the fast-paced, high-energy nature of hockey with Hawaii’s laid-back atmosphere. This could attract media attention and generate buzz around the league, boosting its global profile. Players and fans would appreciate the chance to combine hockey with a vacation in paradise, creating unforgettable memories while enjoying the tropical surroundings.
Additionally, the SHL could use this opportunity to host community events, like youth hockey clinics on synthetic ice or street hockey exhibitions, introducing the sport to Hawaiian residents. By bringing hockey to a market that rarely sees professional play, the SHL could inspire a new generation of fans and even plant the seeds for future development. The All-Star Game in Hawaii wouldn’t just be a game—it would be an unforgettable event.

Puff is the least humble player in the Simulation Hockey League, and he belives that he is the member of the Atlanta Inferno most deserving of a league award. Jiggle is not picky, however. Being named to the All Star Game was a huge recognition, but he wants more. He thinks Most Valuable Player would be fantastic, but he would be willing to settle for one of the lesser awards as long as he gets to perform his new hit single as an acceptance speech! Jiggle had an outstanding season, carrying Atlanta deep into the playoffs and he should be rewarded as such!
5. This time the games are hosted in Minnesota. How would players spend their time in Twin Cities?
Ah Minnesota.. the city of, I don't really know to be honest. It was the long time city of my big idol goaltender legend Robert Andersson who was the Minnesota Chiefs goaltender in the late S20s and early S30s. He often talks about it when i meet him with delight. He often tells me about the ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFETS that are the hidden gems of the city. All kinds of different ones too. Asian all you can eat buffet, mexican all you can eat buffet, swedish smörgåsbord all you can eat buffet, indian all you can eat buffet, and so on and so on. Asking Copilot about activities gives me Local Cuisine so there's that! Mall of America seems to be a good destination for visitors as well. Minnesota also seem to have a vibrant music scene and great night life, so definitely some partying could be on the agenda. Depending on what time of year we're there we might even go see the U.S Pond Hockey Championship that is played in january on top of Lake Nokomis, perhaps some of us could form a team for funsies, not caring about mixing players from different teams. But then again perhaps the SHL insurance won't cover it if we get injured.

6. Your player starts practicing a skill that has nothing to do with hockey, what do they do and how it goes?
You already know what i am about to say arent you. There is really only one skill that Big Sweg is looking to improve, and that is of course his skills in devouring as much food as he can at an ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET. 3. For defensive pairs out of the Pacific division juggernauts I would stick with what we know works and keep the teammates together. Maximova and Soderberg-Snooks from Los Angeles were a dominant two way force all season and keeping them together is probably in the best interests of the western conference coaches. Toasty and Shaw are both lefties and thus don’t play together much on San Francisco, but there is bound to be a lot of familiarity anyways, so it would be best to keep them together. All star games are usually fast paced and free flowing, so having some idea of what your defensive partner is gonna do is key.
4. For the Eastern conference team, I would go with Denebor Milasch, who put up some fantastic numbers on Toronto this season, and should be in the running for the goalie awards this season and likely for many seasons to come. On the western conference team, father time hasn’t caught up to Justin Time quite yet, who put up an incredible season despite his advanced age. Who knows how many more of these all star games we are gonna get to see Time in, which makes it an easy pick in my mind to give the start to one of the best goalies the league has ever seen.
8. Froya Solberg has been Anna Skovgaard’s teammate in every stop along her short SHL career, starting out in Quebec City, then onto Calgary in the big leagues, and is a fellow Norwegian in the international circuit. We won a cup together in Quebec City, and hopefully we get to share a couple of cups in Calgary as well. The backbone of the Dragons, she went crazy in her third season, leading the Dragons offense with a crazy ninety points. The captain lives up to the big role expected of her, and I couldn’t think of a better player to represent Calgary in the all star game, congrats to Froyo on making the all star game!
6. MattyJ decides to try learning the guitar, mostly because he thinks it would be cool to bust out a song at parties or in the locker room. Plus, he loves Foo Fighters and thought that it was worth a shot. It is a complete disaster at first. His fingers hurt after just a few minutes, and he can’t switch between chords without messing up. He tries watching YouTube tutorials, but even those don’t help much. He’s convinced the guitar is rigged for people who are already good.
Still, he doesn’t give up. On road trips, he brings his guitar and practices in the back of the bus. His teammates roast him non-stop, calling him “garbage” and requesting impossible songs like “Free Bird.” Slowly, he starts to get the hang of it. By the end of the season, he’s decent enough to play a "Brown Eyed Girl," and even tries to sing a little. His voice needs work, but he shreds the song that only uses a few chords.
Even though he is far from amazing, MattyJ starts to enjoy it. He starts to feel free as a bird while strumming. Playing guitar helps him relax, and it is kind of satisfying to see himself improve at something that isn’t hockey. He might not be the next Eddie Van Halen, but he’s definitely the only guy on the team who can play a guitar. Actually, he might be the only one that can play an instrument.

5. When the Syndicate arrive into the Twin Cities, the players are ready to make the most of their short time. Obviously the first stop is The Mall of America. A few guys hit up the shops for new Jordans, while others try the indoor roller coasters. MattyJ drug a group to the arcade, claiming he will smoke anyone on a 1v1 on rust. Sadly, they did not have those types of games and MattyJ was stuck holding his tongue.
For food, they hit up local spots for Juicy Lucy burgers. It is basically mandatory when you're in Minnesota. Or at least thats what google told him. Some of the players with a love for nature might take a quick walk around Minnehaha Falls or explore the Mississippi Riverfront to get some fresh air.
At night, they try to keep it chill with team dinners and a stop at a local bar with live music. Whether it's riding rollercoasters or hiking, the team tries to do as much as they can together to build the bond that will help them dominate next season.
Prompt 13:
So I am going to make two cases the first is Jaden Tanner for defensive defenseman of the year and this is mainly because Tanner has been such a beast on the backside blocking that they put up unprecedented numbers with a nearly 70 block lead on the next person if not more. The most shots blocked in a season in the current sim engine is 370 by Ben Der back in S70 but for the first time someone else shall be able to put their name in the top 5 outside of Hodor and Ben Der which is Jaden Tanner with his magnificient performance this season. 379 Blocks is an absolute insane stat and is not something that should be taken lightly. Also Tanner had a positive TA/GA which is always good. Then I am going to make a case for Most Improved for my player, Literally Wizard took a huge step this season after being traded from Chicago and in a new environment this Wizards magic did not fade. Wizard jumped from 48 points to 76 points, a -48 +/- to a 11 +/-, 9 Blocks to 34 Blocks and 0 GWGs to 3 GWGs. Wizard had an absolutely electric season that saw a jump in almost every category and he should be at least in the conversation for this award.
Prompt 4:
When looking at deciding which goalie to start for east conference, which is Denebor Milasch versus Rebecca Montangne. If I had to choose one it would be Montange because despite the lower save % Montagne was under heavy durress from shots all season with 300 more shots against versus Milasch. Then between Justin Time and Gregorz i feel as if I have to go Justin Time.
8. Of course, I have to write about my beloved teammate from Carolina Kraken, Swedish Chef. It’s always an honor to share the ice with them, so it’s great that we were both chosen! I think they were an obvious choice because they are a leader in TPE and all things Forward! I’m honored I could keep up with them Point-wise despite having less TPE. (65 Words, 1 TPE) 10. The four players who were voted in were Dejana Kaptina, Uwe Bindewald, Blake Hutchinson, and Roisin Armagh. I’m personally pretty content about this outcome. I’m happy that someone else from Carolina Kraken (my team) was chosen to join Swedish Chef and me at the Southern Conference! I recall Roisin being high on many people’s mock drafts for SHL Rights drafting, so their place as a Vote-in makes sense to me. Honestly, it disappoints me to see two more QCC players have been added when they have already dominated the Northern Conference. But that’s no skin off of my back. I don’t really know enough about the other team’s players to decide whether or not anyone who didn’t make the Conference lists deserves to be there. I’m merely overjoyed I was chosen for it. With limited knowledge, if I were to say anyone deserves to be on this list, it would be another person from Colorado. They got to the finals, after all, but only have two players on the list, whereas QCC, which also made the finals, has an overwhelming nine. I would have preferred to see more diversity in the choices. But if QCC is just that good, who am I to really say anything? (207 words, 4 TPE)
