1. Nevada Battleborn wants to thanks its supporters by holding a fan appreciation day. As a result, the organization has decided to give all the supporters a bobble head of their choice of the s76 SMJHL rookies : Boyka III, Gwendolyn Telenn, Jeyeff Effo and the newest addition Tomas Suchanek. The organization has decided to make a bobble head using the rookies because they also want to congratulate the rookies on their successful first season. These bobbleheads will be given out during one of Nevada Battleborn's pride events. This is a double win for them as they are thanking the supporters and also supporting the pride movement. The Nevada organization is huge on this and that is why they have a lot of supporters from Canada and USA. The bobble heads will also feature the rookies in their pride uniform. Along with a bobble head, everyone will also be getting a free water battle with the Battleborn logo on it. (159 Words--> 3 tpe)
2. Heading to the end of the s76 SMJHL season, Nevada Battleborn is looking to be one of the stronger teams in the league. First of all, the team has a lot of young talent and they were able to make round 2 of the playoffs with players that were not even capped at the SMJHL season. Thus, we can only expect the team to be stronger than their current level going forward. We might only have one person leave the current roster, so the team is defintely going to remain strong. What is also astonishing is that Nevada only had 4 players that were at 425 cap in s76. Going into s77 we will have 8 players at this level. On top of that we will also have the young rookies in Telenn, Effo, and Boyka III who will be at the 350 cap heading into s77. These three have been max earning and doing all the point tasks they can. Tomas Suchanek is not that far behind and he is only a little further than us since he started much later. Thus, the prospect pool for Battleborn is immense. We might become the Citadelle of the league next season and shock everyone. As of right now, i do not foresee any major holes in our game. With such a great gm, we can only expect good things moving forward. Our locker room is also very lively so any upcoming rookies will find it a breeze being in our organization. In s76, Connor Simard was the breakout player. We are curious to see who that will be in s77. In terms of our depth, we are pretty solid at defense and rw. We can probably use some more players at LW or even C. We are pretty set at goalies as well since Just perfection has been playing amazing and Suchanek is our rookie that is also climbing the ladder quickly. (320 words-->6 tpe) 3. Nevada is looking to gain a competitive edge in the upcoming season. You may be wondering how, but let me let you in on their little secret. Yuri Boyka III has been hanging around with the Brazilian MMA fighter, Paulo Costa. As a result, Boyka III was able to get a sneak peak of the "Secret Juice" marketed by Costa. Boyka III's plan is to give the entire team this juice right before the games. This basically works like a pre-workout but at the same time it also heightens your speed. You can expect the BattleBorn to go blazing past their opponents next season and there won't be anyone to slow them down. Only downfall of this drink is that it only lasts for 2 periods and hence in the 3rd period, they will return to their normal selves. Nevada is going to have to capitalize on their immense advantage early on and need to just sail across with the 3rd period. They must also not let anyone else know about this little drink because some may consider it a performance enhancing drug and cause them to forfeit their games. They are going to have to be very sleek about this and only keep it to themselves. Unfortunately I don't know if this is possible since I already let you fools in on our secret. (225 words-->4 tpe) 16. My goals with Yuri Boyka III is to have as much fun on the forum as possible. I don't want to make it a chore for tpe or anything. I will just take my time and build my player the way I want. I also want to make a kick ass two way forward such that he will amass many hits and points. I want Boyka III to be hitting like a truck so that my opponent gets dazed and loses his hand-eye coordination. My end goal with Boyka III is to eventually win the challenge cup and possibly be inducted to the HOF. 9. What's in a Name?
A player name is the first of many steps that mark the start of a new SHL career. From meme names, real life references and parodies of hockey players, there are a wonderful assortment of names that can be found throughout the league. Which player(s) have the best name and why? Mac Griddle is a favorite of mine. The fact that it sounds like it could be a real name but is also a play on the McDonald's Breakfast sandwich is very funny to me. Walter Melon is also a favorite for the same reason. Another name I like is Jean-Jacques Francois Jacques-Jean. The absurd length of it is hilarious and the thought of trying to fit it on a jersey or hockey card is also very funny. Finally, Brayden Point is funny because seeing a real hockey player's name next to all of the other odd names is an amusing sight. Word Count: 101 (103 if Jean-Jacques and Jacques-Jean count as 2 words.) 16. Goals Although your career may still be in its early stages, it's still a great time to think about the future. What are some goals you have for your career, or some personal goals for the site? Are you striving for a HOF induction? Getting a site job? My personal goal is to be an active member of this site for a long time. I found this site a few years ago and I was fairly active for a short time but my personal life and the tedious way that you used to develop players caused me to leave. I stuck around and watched the seasons fly by from the outside until I decided to come back earlier this season after finding out that the player progression system was updated and became much easier to use. Now that I'm back, I want to be able to be more involved with this community and this site while being much more active for a much longer time. As for my player and future players, If I can make a player that can stick around for many seasons and be a decent contributor, I'd consider that a success. As I get better at developing my players, I could maybe even win some awards down the road. Word Count: 165 14. R&R It's almost officially the offseason. Whether you just won the cup or didn't even make it past the first round of the playoffs, it's time to take a break and look toward the SHL draft. Tell us how you're spending your time this offseason, whether it be with family or friends. Bishop Van Apeldoorn's offseason is an eventful one. He travels back to his hometown of Lloydminster to spend time with his family that includes five brothers and five sisters. He and his family will go and spend a day at Cheers downtown, His family's favorite restaurant in town. His family always has a party at Cheers every summer, a tradition in his family ever since the restaurant opened. Bishop also plays a fair bit of bowling during the offseason, often frequenting the Lloyd Lanes Bowling Alley in town. On peaceful days, Bishop stays at home and practices his skills on the guitar, something he has loved to do ever since he was a kid. Word Count: 114 Link to Claim

PBE Affiliate 3 TPE 16. When I first created, I was asked what my career goals were for Doug Weight. Ideally I'd love to have a Hall of Fame career with multiple awards, records and championships to my name. After retiring and un-retiring my TPE took a pretty big hit and I fell way behind other prospects and had to reset my goals and priorities. Now my more realistic goals are to help Maine win this years SMJHL title and hopefully another before I age out in the league. I don't have high hopes or expectations otherwise than being a good cog in the machine for the Timber. Maxxing out TPE wise and doing what is asked to be a solid player and helping the team win as much as possible. I have no goals after that really. I imagine I'll probably go undrafted in the SHL draft and be forced to retire afterwards. Which is ok. 152 words 3 TPE 9. My own player Doug Weight has the best name in the SHL. And I'm gonna tell you why. The real life version of the player was an amazing playmaker from Michigan who found his way to the NHL and most importantly Edmonton. While he was there, he quickly became my favorite player growing up and someone I modeled my own hockey skills after. He led the Oilers in scoring almlost every season he played there and was a stalwart member of the community as well. My own dad had a chance to meet him several times while he worked at Northlands in Edmonton as both an electrician and a refrigeration mechanic. My dad was part of the group that made the ice in Edmonton the very best in the NHL for many years. I even had a chance to meet Doug Weight years later at an autograph session, where I had a jersey signed and a picture taken with Doug Weight. Truly one of the highlights of my life. Even if I was awkward as all hell. Now my entry into the SHL is named after the former Oiler great and I hope to have as many if not more accomplishments as the real version once I'm done. 208 words 4 TPE Banned Banned

It's almost officially the offseason. Whether you just won the cup or didn't even make it past the first round of the playoffs, it's time to take a break and look toward the SHL draft. Tell us how you're spending your time this offseason, whether it be with family or friends. Jacob finished his first season with Highlanders. After losing to Kraken, he returns to France where he reconnects with family and friends. It feels good to be home enjoying the Mediterranean Sea. He and his family spend time in the French countryside. He is visited by Demir as they watch the matches finish. Although he should rejuvenate and relax, the SHL draft is coming up. So Jacob takes a trip to the Alps to begin his training especially after he gets news that he is selected to join Team Rhine for the World Juniors Championship. Giving him the opportunity to prove himself of what he is capable of outside Highlanders while he represents France as an black man at that. African people rarely if ever play hockey and typically consider caucasian sport. Growing up in Marseille,, he first encountered hockey watching his brother play. However tragedy strikes leaving his older brother dead. Jacob picked up his stick and reconnected with his lost brother by playing the sport that he loved. He tried to play like Adam until his coach reminded him that his style of play is different. Adam is better forward but Jacob makes better defenders so he should work on that. Which he did by creating his own style of training which includes other sports: track & field, golf, and handball. These sports helped Jacob develop his style of gameplay. His community encourages him to keep moving forward as he uses their motivation and love as fuel into his training. All of this improves his training as he sees improvements on his skating ability, stickhandling prowess, and shot accuracy. Hired a fitness coach to help with his training in the gym and on the ice. Jacob is determined to reach new heights in skill and mindset. Soon he heads to Berlin, Germany to meet with his teammates for the World Junior Championship. Excited that he can compete at an international level. He received messages that few of his mates from HIghlanders will participate as well. Jacob sees this as his chance to showcase his impressive abilities worldwide with high hopes to bring home a medal. After the tournament ended, Jacob returnhome to rest and train. However he decides to fly to Japan for a few weeks before he must return to Ottawa to start the next season. As soon as he arrives in Tokyo, he embraces the beautiful sights of the city. He immersed himself in the eclectic of Harajuku, where fashion became an art form, and tasted the city’s culinary soul in the bustling fish markets of Tsukiji. Jacob was able to try his hand at sumo wrestling which left captivating experience leaving him breathless. Then he adventures to Kyoto to witness the beauty of Gion district, a traditional geisha district. He learned the calligraphy art, partaking in traditional tea ceremonies. 15. Charity Drive Professional hockey players are among the luckiest members of a community, but not everyone is given the same opportunities. As such, many players are expected to give back to the community by volunteering their time and energy off the ice with various charitable organizations. Write about a charity or event that your player helped out with In the world of Ice Hockey, there isn’t much diversity in the sport. Jacob volunteers at an organization to encourage ethnic kids to enter the sport. Being that his mother is a teacher, she wants her son to be an outspoken advocate for the world of hockey. Thus with the help of some people at local temples in Ottawa. Jacob joined forces with organizations that aimed to provide equitable access to ice hockey for all. Through outreach programs, mentorship, and financial assistance as the organization strives to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for kids from all backgrounds. Jacob hosts hockey clinics in underprivileged neighborhoods and speaks at schools to inspire young people from all backgrounds. “I want to show kids that anything is possible, no mater what your race or where you come from. If you are passionate about something, you can achieve great things if you work hard and stay true to yourself.” He shares his story with the kids and plays with the kids. “I didn’t see anyone who looked like me playing hockey. So I had to look at the few who did for inspiration.” He coaches the kids and attends a few of the junior games to inspire and motivate the children. Facing his own challenges in the league, he gives motivational speeches to help the kids “I knew that if I wanted to be taken seriously, I had to be twice as good as everyone else. In order to prove that race doesn’t matter and that I truly belong on the ice.” Through his unwavering dedication, Jacob is not only opening doors for aspiring hockey players of minority groups but also leaving a lasting legacy in the sport. By promoting diversity and inclusivity, he is creating a more vibrant and dynamic hockey community that reflects the true spirit of the game. His efforts are not only transforming the lives of individual children but challenging stereotypes surrounding ice hockey. By showcasing the talent and potential of ethnic players, he is breaking down the barriers that have traditionally excluded them from the sport. 16. Goals Although your career may still be in its early stages, it's still a great time to think about the future. What are some goals you have for your career, or some personal goals for the site? Are you striving for a HOF induction? Getting a site job? I wish to remain with the Highlanders for at least 2 more seasons before I move up to SHL. I enjoy their atmosphere and community with the leadership under Frenchie and Pyro. Their hard work and dedication are the bedrock of this team. It is my desire to help Highlanders to obtain their first cup. Making a few seasons become our greatest feat! As we improve our members the road to victory will be ensured. Recently, I embarked on a new adventure taking on the role of general management (GM) under the World Junior Championship (WCJ) specifically leading Team Ice. This experience will allow me to explore the strategic and operational aspects of managing a hockey team from a unique perspective. While I may enjoy the challenge of GMing, my current commitments prevent me from dedicating the time required for a permanent role on a regular season team. As I explore the SHL community, I am deeply interested in the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and its potential to further develop the sport globally. My vision for IIHF goes beyond simply promoting existing tournaments. One key area I’m particularly interested in is reintroducing the Olympics as a platform for international hockey. The absence of the Olympics has left a significant void in the global hockey landscape, diminishing the spotlight on international competition. Having the Olympics would create another platform for players to showcase their skills on a global stage. Probably at some point I desire to either lead an IIHF team or the federation itself. Having visionary thinking is essential to nativage the ever-evolving landscape of international hockey. The ability to inspire and motivate others, build consensus, and make tough decisions under pressure is paramount. sts18. Task 2 - PBE Affiliate - 3 TPE
Task 4 - Funtimes - Being put in charge of the fun for the day in the Raptors locker room would spell absolute disaster and mayhem for all involved. Buckle up, this is gonna get a bit in-depth, I've basically been planning since I got here. So first off, something a bit more near and dear to my my character's heart, an introduction to his home country's long standing historical ball game called Pitz. If you have ever seen the animated movie Road to El Dorado then you've seen the game, its the one where they hit the ball with their hips through a stone hoop on the wall. But basically, it's just that. You use your hips to hit a soccer-like ball through a hoop elevated on a wall and you get points for when it goes through. It's a great game for working out the hip bones and joints so it could be fun to introduce to them. After that, we would have to go off site to a different spot, but something a bit more relevant to the Colorado Raptors as a whole. A RAGE ROOM. Basically in these guys, you get a bunch of old junk from thrift shops and second-hand stores on the cheap, the more the better. Then you go in a room, put on some protective gear, loud music, grab a baseball bat or other tool of your choice and just go to absolute town on the stuff you got from the thrift shop. As a raptor, of course you have to be able to dish out destruction and this would be a great way for us to channel our inner raptors and go feral. Following our experience in the rage rooms, I'll go back to one of my favorite pass times, an escape room. Same premise as the rage room, except in this room you're locked in and you are supposed to solve a series of puzzles and riddles in order to find the way out of the room. (Without destroying it, of course.) They take a bit to get used to, but they really help with problem solving and critical thinking so it could be quite beneficial to get all of us eggheads into a room together to try and work on that a little. We'd end the evening with a multicultural cuisine buffet extravaganza. I'm talking some of the most lavish foods prepared from countries all over the world. The best of the best of what each regions have to offer. I was thinking for a dish from my home country we call Pepian, which is basically a thick beef or chicken stew made with lots of roasted vegetables and seeds. Then that is put over a bed of rice and then you just take a big ole scoop of it and put it in a tortilla and eat it. To represent the US, I would of course choose something like BBQ and just have an array of different BBQ foods like brisket and sausage. Either way, there would be something for everyone to enjoy as there would be tons of options from all over. If we had the budget, I'd probably try to spring for some nice, comfy hotel rooms for everyone to just sleep of all the food worry-free. I told you I had been planning this out for a long time now! - 560 Words - 11 TPE Task 18 - Milestones - 2 TPE Total: 16 TPE

[TASK 2] - 152 Words - 3 TPE
The Yukon Malamutes are in an interesting position heading into S77, with a great crop of young players on the horizon. Hugo Spycher, Ylib Kove and Smudge Pan make up the team's offensive core and will be essential Top 6 forwards moving forward. Dash Jackson and McLovin are a 1-2 punch on the blue-line any team would dream of, and Dexter Harrison is developing into quite the formidable netminder. That being said, the team has some holes moving forward that are most easily addressed via the upcoming SMJHL draft. Padding their offensive core with a solid centre pick up at their 4th overall pick could be a great choice, while adding a third solid defense man would also make for a great move. With veterans Slava Ukraini (Center) & Peyton McBride (Defense) likely departing the team next year for the SHL, these will be the two biggest positions to fill moving forward. [TASK 8] - 151 Words - 3 TPE While I think it's a bit of a shoe in answer, I would likely wish I was playing for the Quebec City Citadelles. Given their championship run, I think any player would want the chance to be part of a top team, and these guys were a STACKED roster this season. While this does mean there may have been little room for me to find playing time, I'd have made the most out of those rare moments and shown the team I had what it took to try and continue that winning legacy on in a bigger position the following season. I'm not sure I'd have had the biggest impact on the team's odds of success in the short term but sometimes those rookies can surprise you. All that aside, I loved playing for Yukon this season and wouldn't have it any other way and therefore wouldn't even consider another team. [TASK 12] - 203 Words - 4 TPE Hugo Spycher is one of the most riveting young prospects in the S77 SHL Draft class. Managing to sneak under the radar of many SHL scouts due to his quiet, unbecoming nature and late start to his SMJHL career, the young Swiss winger is looking to dominate next season with the Yukon Malamutes and be a crucial prospect piece for any SHL team. With a pension for goal scoring, a winning attitude, and electric skating skills, Spycher is every coaches dream and every opponents worst nightmare, equally capable of fancily undressing unassuming defenders with slick moves or depending on fundmental skating skills to blow past on the edge. Brave in the corner, and fiesty in front of the night, Spycher's offensive game is unmatched, but we he carries in offense he lacks in defense. With an unfortunate gap in his defensive gameplay and as a minus player last season for the Malamutes, Spycher will need to address the glaring issues of defensive positioning, and stickplay that plagued him last year before he can realistically hope to contribute at the SHL level. Our current projections would see him likely landing in the mid to late second round, but wildcards can happen at any time! [TASK 14] - 110 Words - 2 TPE I tend to take the offseasons quite easy. While most players crack down on conditioning programs or hop on the ice with a new coach, I like to reconnect with my other passions and spend time with my family. As a hobby fishkeeper, I love having the extra few months to set up new tanks and maintain old ones. Heading out on the trips I didn't have time for through the year with my wife and extended family keeps each year feeling refreshing and reminds me why I need to keep the big checks rolling in. All in all, it's a pretty leisure filled summer on the horizon for me. [TASK 16] - 162 Words - 3 TPE With only a single year under my belt, it's hard to know exactly what I want my career to be filled with, but I do have a few ideas in mind. As I'm sure any good team oriented player is, my first goal is always going to be to win championships. Nothing beats the feeling of lifting the cup over your head surrounded by guys you poured blood and sweat and tears in with together. Apart from that, as a scoring focused guy, I'd love to have a 50 goal season someday and maybe even aim for the SMJHL/SHL single season goal scoring record. As I continue improving the offensive aspects of my game, I hope I'm at the very least trending in the right direction towards that goal! Finally, I'd love to be a really crucial player in the playoffs someday and maybe earn a nod for Playoff MVP. It's a weird one, but an important one none the less. Fantasy League Manager Posting Freak Code: 7. Winner Winner Chicken For multiple reasons, I think that the Quebec City Citadelles will be the team that will take home the title this postseason. Quebec was the only team to get 100 points this season and finished first with a 10-point lead on the second team. But I don’t think this is the most impressive stats about this team, because their goal differential this season was a staggering +110 with is 34 more that their closest opponents who were Carolina. The Citadelles are stacked at every single position, 9 out of their 15 players have reached the maximum SMJHL TPE of 425 and their starting goalie also has 425 TPE. This means that they are a deep team and that in the event of their top players not being able to perform like they should during these playoffs, they will probably be able to count on their depth to cover for them. This team is at maturity, and it showed all season with their impressive performances they had. On top of that, they are coming from a disappointing playoff run in season 75 where they got 105 points during the regular but lost to Colorado during the semifinals. They will want to avenge this disappointing result and show the whole league what they really are about this season. 216 words - 4 TPE Code: 12. On the Radar First, I would start by telling him that I’m actually available for the S77 SHL draft, since the S76 is already done at this point. I think Nor Ge has a lot to offer to his future SHL team and he already has a good idea of what kind of player he wants to be. I expect most players to think the same way, because they all are a bit naïve when they are young and are just starting their SMJHL, but Nor Ge like to believe that he is one of the few that will actually have a hall of fame-level career. In terms of size, Nor doesn’t have a lot to offer since he is only 5 feet 10, and while he probably won’t be the kind of player that will be throwing a huge number of hits, you should expect Nor to come out with the puck on most of his board battle. In terms of skills, Nor is looking to primarily be a playmaker that will rely on his passing, his speed and his puck-handling skills to set up great scoring opportunities for his future teammates. Unfortunately, the defensive side of his game still needs a lot of work and while Nor wants to improve this aspect of his game, he won’t strictly focus on it, so you should expect him to be an average defensive player at the SHL level, but he thinks his big offensive contribution will be more than enough to compensate for his questionable defensive abilities. 254 words - 5 TPE Code: 16. Goals On the site, I will keep my job as a fantasy manager and I don’t plan on taking another one, because I’m not anywhere close to running out of money any time soon and this job and the player salary with a bit of money from the chirper thread are usually close to cover a season expenses. For Nor Ge, the goal is nothing less than the hall of fame. I expect that Nor Ge will have over a point per game in the majority of his SHL season and I expect him to end his career with over a thousand points. Nor will try to improve as much as he can, and he has his eyes set on reaching the 2000 TPE milestone. 124 words - 2 TPE Code: 17. Feedback I really this new version of Championship Week, because it gives a lot of freedom since you have more choice with what you can do with each prompt, and it doesn’t limit you at any point. In the past, I often had prompts on which I had a lot to say and could easily to over a hundred words on them, but they would only give me one TPE, because they were in the 50 words/1 TPE category. On the other side, I often had no or not a lot of inspiration for some of the prompts that required 150 words to get the TPE and I’m glad that I can either completely skip them or right a small text on them and still get one or two TPE. I also think that removing the TPE cap on each prompt is a good thing, because it lets people be creative if they found a prompt that really inspires them. I think you should keep it that way going forward. 169 words - 3 TPE Code: 18. Milestones - COMING SOON Milestones - 2 TPE Nor Ge

1. Fan Appreciation Day
On the day of the final home game for The Great Falls Grizzlies, the brass decided to show their appreciation for the fans by giving away a chocolate delicacy marketed as a Grizzly Paw. It’s a big hunk of caramel dipped a number of times in dark, rich, carefully crafted chocolate and then decorated with 5 cashews that appear as claws. The idea was that while any team can give way bobbleheads or foam fingers, they inevitably end up in the trash or littering something somewhere. In order to cut down the environmental impact of a give-away, the treats were delivered on large trays and the fans just grabbed one on their way in. They were a huge hit and not a single person wished they had a commemorative towel, except, perhaps, to wipe the sticky mess off their faces. In fact, the appreciation of the fans was noted as the Grizzlies secured home-ice advantage for the playoffs. Words: 158 2. Looking Towards the Future The Great Falls Grizzlies are going to have a few holes to fill as they prepare for the beginning of Season 77. While the team was not the offensive powerhouse that some other teams were, they still had a number of fantastic capped out goal scorers who have now made their journey to the big show, their time as a junior done. The gap is obvious. Drafting a few forwards has to be on the Grizzlies radar if they want to have a chance to win in the next few seasons. The Goalie situation is solid and a couple rookie defenseman are rocking a solid core for the defensive side. While blocking goals and stopping shots is important... the Grizzlies need to score more and not rely on 2-1 wins taking them all the way. They may not be favourites for cup contenders for season 77 but the future looks bright for the squad from Great Falls. You never know. Words: 160 18. Milestones Milestones S76 +3 14. R&R The off season has been going for on for what seems to be an eternity. Not the fault of anyone, it’s so much fun to play everyday and its hard to sit and wait for the next season. The Great Falls Grizzlies, fortunately, did not have as long an off season as some teams, having made it to the second round of the playoffs before being stomped by Newfoundland. Still, the wait is impatient to get going again. Elvar Gil-Galad is taking the opportunity to definitely rest and relax in the downtime. The scouting for the SHL draft is entertaining as this is important in the life of a rookie. It’s so nice to be noticed by the SHL GM’s, even if its just a howdy, how are ya. Likely going in the second round, Elvar looks forward to whichever team decides to take a chance on the rookie from Iceland. Inbetween messages from the SHL, the lanky goaltender is doing his best to stay fit and train in order to be a contributing member of the Grizzlies as they build toward the future and get drafted by a SHL team ready for some Icelandic magic between the pipes. Good luck to all draftees! Words: 204 16. Goals Thinking about the future is fun for a rookie. The slate is clear. The canvas is blank and there are so many possibilities at this point. With Elvar Gil-Galad, I am intrigued to see how well I can do as a goalie. It’s the only position I have never created as before so its all new and fresh and fun. I have in my head how I want my player to end up but there are so many tangents to take along one’s career you just can’t know. I do intend to make this my highest earning TPE player that I have created, and I truly believe that is a realistic goal. I think, as well as so many other players, I would also like to win a cup again. I can be patient. I can look to the future and see what direction a team is trending. I am incredibly loyal though, so sometimes a cup isn’t everything as long as I’m having fun and staying active, but is it ever fun to win. It’s been a long time for me and my players. Words: 185

4. Funtimes
You have been designated as the team's official Fun Director! Now, everyone is looking for some sort of fun activity where you all can spend an afternoon or day to chill, hang out and build some team spirit. Especially after a long and stressful season, what are your plans to ensure everyone has a great time? This offseason, the Whalers will be going on a trip to the mountains and Kootenay Lake. The organization will rent an airBNB on the lake, which will have space for all the players with the twist that players on the same line or D-Pairing will have to share rooms with the goal of fostering a more tightly connected group. While some overly enthusiastic pranking will threaten to throw a wrench into the mix, with the right combination of camaraderie and adult beverages a great time will be had. They will also be roped into a variety of fishing, hiking, and biking excursions, which will let the group blow off some steam and get some of the competitive juices flowing. 119 words actual response (+2) 12. On the Radar Write a pre-draft scout report on your player from the perspective of a journalist covering the prospects of the S77 SHL draft class. What do possible SHL suitors have to be excited (or perhaps wary?) about when it comes to potentially drafting your player? Oliver Cornwall entered his debut SMJHL season as a raw athlete who had not yet developed his skill set to really shine on the ice. As he played through the season, he developed into a solid presence on the defensive side of the puck, boasting 59 takeaways, good for fourth on the team, with a differential of plus 29 when compared to his giveaways. He also developed a bit of an offensive touch as the season wore on, ending the season with 20 points which was far better than could have been expected given his incredibly slow start. While he did not get as good a start as many of his peers, the first waiver pick up of the season was on a steady development pace in his first season, completing all available PTs and mPTs on the way to a current total of 325 total TPE. One area of concern with Cornwall is his relative lack of bank funds, which may present a hurdle to continue accelerated development. His agency will need to commit to getting more media pieces or other income sources going forward, but in their statement this afternoon, they committed to a consistence development pace, and it is clear that SHL teams can count on him to be a steady developer, even in the worst case scenario. He is also a steady lockerroom presence, even though he has been pretty absent from the rookie locker room. As such, he projects to be a mid-first round pick, and it is sure that he will be a steady contributor to his future team. 265 words actual response (+5) 14. R&R It's almost officially the offseason. Whether you just won the cup or didn't even make it past the first round of the playoffs, it's time to take a break and look toward the SHL draft. Tell us how you're spending your time this offseason, whether it be with family or friends. In the winddown from his first ever season in the SMJHL and after being drafted by the New England Wolfpack, it will be a summer of celebration for Oliver Cornwall while being sure not to lose track of his development pathway. To start, Oliver will be embarking on a trip to Europe to play in the S76 World Junior Championships for the British Isles, where he will slot in on the second pairing and continue to cut his teeth against the best players junior hockey has to offer. After the tournament wraps up, he will be going back to his native Britain to see old family and friends, while taking some relaxing tours around the coasts of Scotland and the rolling landscape of Wales. From there, he will loop back home to his home Cambridge, and continue to London to take in the historic sights one more time. As he departs his home nation, the chance to visit some of the warmer locales of Europe will be seized as he will make stops in Barcelona, Gibraltar, and southern Italy to experience the local cultures and, most importantly, the warm weather before he returns to Vancouver to get back on track for a summer of training. 205 words actual response (+4) 15. Charity Drive Professional hockey players are among the luckiest members of a community, but not everyone is given the same opportunities. As such, many players are expected to give back to the community by volunteering their time and energy off the ice with various charitable organizations. Write about a charity or event that your player helped out with Mental health is a central concern to Oliver Cornwall, and he has helped organize and drive fundraiser and awareness initiatives since his arrival in Vancouver. Armed with his own experiences, Cornwall regularly sets time aside to speak to members of the community to show them that poor mental health is nothing to be ashamed of, and with a strong community we can all help each other stave off that pestilence. He has organized awareness runs and contributed matching funds to fundraisers in his community to demonstrate that this is not only an area he is deeply involved in, but also one where he is prepared to let his wallet speak. At the end of the day, a happy community is a strong community and that is central to Cornwall’s approach to life. 132 words actual response (+2) 18. Milestones +3

13. Superstitious (5 TPE) - 250 words
If it in the playoffs or not, Sam Volta has always some superstitious. First, in the warmups, he has a track to follow and turning on the perimeters of the faceoff spots. We saw that first superstitious when Sam Volta did his rookie lap on the ice with Skyler Stevens and Gina Pinard. Volta thinks that turning around these perimeters tell that a good game is about to come for his team, and it boosts his agility skills. Next, he has another superstition. Yes, that’s right! Volta is always 15 minutes early before the warmups, to look at the clean ice in the dark. That helps him to concentrate during his games, which helps a lot considering that he has a good offensive season with 71 points in 66 games last season. Then, he has another superstition that is most common to football. In fact, the superstition of not touching the team’s logo in the locker room or on the ice during warmups, even if his team is in another arena. In fact, this one is a superstition that has a good cause: respect. Not touching the logo on the ice or in the locker room means that you’re respecting anyone. If you are touching the logo by accident, you must apologize. Or else, you’ll get bamboozled by the opposing team or even your team. That a lot of superstitions. I know, but it seems to work for Volta, since he’s unstoppable on the offensive and very respectful to anyone. 14. R&R (3 TPE) - 154 words Even if my team went out of the first round, I take the time to go to Green Hills to see Sonic’s Squad. In fact, they supported me all the time, on the TV, each game. I brought every jersey signed by me as a gift for them. Then, I went to my secret spot to cook some music, in fact, I love making music. It’s a passion that I do as a hobby. And the success of it is fabulous. And you can earn some money, so it’s very good. After doing a few shows, I went back training on Tails secret workshop. In fact, Tails has an indoor rink with plenty of technology. So, I went back training on the attributes that I need to focus more. Pretty busy offseason with the draft as well. Oof! At the end, I relaxed with my Tidal squad on the beach to top it off. 15. Charity Dive (2 TPE) - 107 words Volta is very kind off the ice. In fact, Volta really fights for people who has cancer. After some people who knows him well got the cancer, Volta didn’t hesitate to give to those fighters back. Volta even cuts a part of his payday each time, to give to the organizations who research any possible cancer and how to treat those cancers. Cancer is an important subject to know, since it can happen to anyone, at anytime. Even a small child can have leukemia (blood cancer) or a brain tumor. So, giving money to these organizations is great since we help them to know the cancers better. 16. Goals (3 TPE) - 152 words I do have a couple of goals. First, I really want my player to go on the HoF and the 2k TPE. I’ll try my best to get those goals first. Next, I want to get a site job. In fact, this community is non-toxic and friendly. I already start to get the GM phase by being the Canada Red GM for the WJC. But I really want, when I’ll be without my family house and have a good pc, to get FMH to be Gm somewhere and getting better jobs. I’ll start little by little to get some jobs and know the SHL’s website even more. Finally, I do have a goal that is already done. Which is to make some friends along the journey. Big love to Kahri, Corey, Ruggsy, Fish, Schwarznarr and so on that can’t show to anyone. I’m a chill person, so making enemies is very low. 18. Prompt 6: Team history
Detroit Falcons are among the oldest teams in SMJHL although not quite a founding team. Falcons played their first SJMHL season in season 5 and they had a strong start to the league winning the cup in their inaugural season and following up with a Laurifer trophy for winning the regular season in season 6. Whatever happened to Falcons in season 7 has been lost to history, but Falcons finished off the aughts with two Four Star cup final appearances in seasons 8 and 9 and a championship in season 9. Like Icarus flying too close to the sun, so too soared the Falcons, and after their hot start Falcons cooled down. The seasons 10-19 brought Falcons Laurifer trophies in seasons 10, 14 and 18. The closest Falcons got to winning the championship in that era, though, was in seasons 14 and 15, when Falcons made their way to the cup finals only to be denied by Vancouver both times. Falcons spent the rest of the 10’s getting exits in first or second round of playoffs. In the 20’s Falcons started to up their playoff game once more. In seasons 20-24 Falcons finished consistenly in the top 3 in the regular season. Falcons won the regular season consecutively in seasons 22–24. Seasons 21–23 had the Falcons make it to cup finals. Seasons 21 and 22 ended in bitter defeat against Kelowna Knights, but season 23 was Falcons’s time to shine and bring the cup to Detroit. The success in regular season during season 24 weighed little when Falcons got a round 2 upset in the hands of Montreal Impact, which marked an end to this era of Falcons. Falcons spent the latter half of 20’s in rebuild mode with no team accolades to speak of. The 30’s and 40’s were a time of reasonable competetiveness for Falcons. Regular season results mostly hovered around 5th position in the league during the 30’s and early 40’s. Falcons did not win any Laurifer trophies during this time, but managed a few 2nd positions in the league standings. In seasons 34 and 37 Falcons got to celebrate the championship. In season 44 Falcons returned to their regular season winning form for two consecutive seasons, but playoffs showed their brutality as Falcons got a second round exit in season 44 and lost the cup finals in season 45. Falcons’ highlights of the late 40’s and 50’s are winning Laurifer trophy in seasons 49, 52 and 53 and lifting the Four Star cup in season 53. So far, mid to late 60’s have arguably been the Falcons’ golden era. Seasons 64, 65, 68 and 69 are the Falcons four highest scoring seasons in terms of regular season points. Regular season success also translated into some playoff success in the 60’s, as Falcons made it to the Four Star cup finals in seasons 65, 68 and 69 and won the cup in S65 and S68. S65 is the Falcons’s most dominant regular season performance with a whopping .909 point percentage. The success was surely welcomed by Falcons’ fans considering that just few seasons earlier in S61–S63 Falcons struggled badly. Season 62 went down in the annals as the worst Falcons season with a point percentage of .121. In seasons 61 and 63 Falcons managed point percentages of .311 and .333 respectively. By season 70 Falcons had reached rebuilding phase once more. The few remaining player from heydays of S68 and S69 roster were enough to earn a conference 4th seed spot, but the season 70 ended in a second round defeat. In season 71 Falcons barely made it to the playoffs finishing 7th in the conference and 13th in the league and in season 72 Falcons failed to qualify for playoffs. The new Falcons core showed signs of improvement in season 73 earning a 5th seed conference spot. The improvement culminated in S74 with Detroit winning the cup and Laurifer trophies. In season 75 Falcons had a good run at winning back to back championships, but Falcons found their match in Newfoundland Bersekers, who sent the Falcons home in round 2. Falcons were active in the draft in preparation for season 76 drafting a total of 7 players for the future roster core. Falcons’ season 76 ended in the 6th seed in the conference and with a first round playoff sweep by Colorado Raptors. Heading into season 77 the S76 SMJHL draft class are taking the stage as Falcons core although three players from the S74 champion team still remain to teach the next class of Falcon hatchlings. Word count: 764 words Prompt 18: Milestones to earn that 16th TPE |
