I feel like the Robert Phelps card would be extremely valuable as he's an all-time great for the steelhawks and was like the Gordie howe of the SHL, he was always very good and he was a great leader for our team
I think one of the rarest cards will be the Norm Emerson rookie card. A player who has always been underrated, but has consistently produced as a top level defenseman, his cards would likely be low in circulation but would fetch an incredibly high price on the market
I am going to go with Geckos player, he is going to have a really special hologram/changing card. On the surface it will appear to be normal, but when you move it, it will reveal it's true secret.
The obvious and only answer to this question is Jimmy Slothface. He is, of course, the best player of all time. He does things no one can dream of, and things worthy of the rarest and most expensive SHL trading card.
Bjorn Jakobsen's rookie card should end up very valuable. Being drafted very late in the SMJHL Draft, and then being drafted more than 20 picks into. the SHL Draft, he would have a draft steal card, and be very valuable. He is currently top 5 in TPE, and has already been called up, so is racking up the counting stats.
As much as i would love to have my players card be considered rare and sought after, in truth i think that some of the great players of the past like the Tuck brothers who wont have any more cards made after retiring will be the rarest cards
The ultra super most rarest card in my mind will be El Scruffo, the mysterious masked wrestler from the original Slip McScruff media back in 2018. He's a vintage reference for a select few people, and that's what drives the value up when people want to pretend they are in the know.

The most highly sought after card will be that of Jalopski. No other defenseman has had that level of impact on the site as a whole and new members are still hearing about and bringing up the stories of Jalopski.
PS: Easy, Joe Kurczewski. The longetivity of the guy coupled with his high performance for the huge bulk of his team. Not only that, but he is an icon for bringing ice hockey to NOLA. No second guessing in this case.
When looking at the rarity of a card like the First ed. shadowless Charizard (which goes for about $1000 on a quick google search? Honestly feels like it should be more but I don't know card values), there are specific qualities that make it so rare.
1. Nostalgic/long-time favorite
2. Unique design
3. Limited production
#2 is a little harder to figure out given how each player are generally similar in terms of builds, and some stand out for certain aspects of qualities, but as a 'design' isn't much to work on. More on that later.
For #1 and #3, relating it to sim leaguers, it'd have to be an OG player who's career extended for over multiple generations, was extremely impactful and even to this day, newcomers of the SHL would immediately know and recognize who it is. As well, it'd have to be a one-time run with no recreate, relating to just how rare of a player that was. Being one of those later users, there are some names I've heard about enough to give a close to that recognition but nothing quite in that realm.
If I had to choose somebody who had multiple editions, I guess King and his multis could count as having numerous copies but nothing quite like the original?
Taking into account a long time favorite, unique design and limited productions, it's got to be @visceralpotamus aka Pasta the Turtle. This one of a kind will never be copied or altered in any shape or form and we're in a golden age right now getting to experience its unveiling.
Considering the amount of TPE that Lyle Odelein III has delivered to SHL users across the world, I'm sure many will be jumping at the opportunity to lock up his trading card and collectors will pay a hefty price just like they would for the rarest pokemon cards.
There is no question that Ethan Price deserves a first edition card.
The man is a menace who will undoubtedly make his way into the Hall of Fame in the future.
It'd be madness if he did not.
How about a Carpy rookie card. He could go down as one of the most underrated goaltenders of this era. He doesn't have much hardware and the win totals won't be there because of the rebuild but he remains one of the best goalies of this generation.

I think the SHL cards should have limited runs of cards like past players or even a 'Young Guns' rookie series. That could make for some very rare cards as once the rookie season has passed or the matching year for past players has gone they're no longer available. i.e. Rookies from S55 will only run for that year and once that's done you won't be able to pull their rookie cards from packs again, or have S20 match up when S60 is released and cards are released for S20 players that will only be available for the releases from S60.
