The guy who murdered 50 people in Orlando was also a legal gun owner. Is this not a problem?
I mostly just lurked this thread but I think it may be time to share my two cents. It seems that the bulk of the conversation here is about civillians right to own a firearm and wether or not removing this right would solve or at least help the problem with shootings.
First off we have to realize that it is almost entirely impossible to get rid of every civilian's guns. Let's assume that meme is accurate and say there are 200 million legal firearms to track down and dispose of. Impossible, not to mention the death of an entire industry, hobby, sport, market. Now, even if it was possible, someone who wants to hurt or kill another person will do so wether or not they legally own a gun. There will always be a way to get one. For example, pot is/was illegal but people still smoked it... Even in a perfect world where no illegal guns existed in the US, someone who mentally thinks it's okay to harm someone like that will just use another form, a knife for example.
The problem is not the firearms, the problem is racism, homophobia and terrorism just to name a few.

Their availability is an issue, but no, it is not the problem.

His picture said "Legal gun owners are not the problem". Some are. That was my rebuttal. That does not mean GET RID OF EVERYONES GUN!

People have and will always be the problem. Doesn't matter if it's guns or knives or bombs or what have you. It takes a certain kind of fucked up to kill another human being.

He is trying to lump all legal gun owners as law abiding... they're not.

Why are bombs and knifes not used?
One is incredibly difficult to get the ingredients for and the other isn't nearly as effective. They aren't the same as guns.

Also how do you "fix" someone's opinion? Has anyone's opinion changed in this topic? No. The older people get the more stubborn they get in their view points.
It's amazing how when someone mentions gun control, the opposition always jumps to "they want to take all guns away". We just want regulation and restrictions. You want a gun for protection? Here's a handgun. Are you a hunter? Here's a hunting rifle. Why do you need these semi-automatics?
