Aron Hernadivic, as mentioned in the opening chapter to "Aron Hernadivic: Living with Yourself", was a product of child trafficking, ending up in a good home of a lovely Czech Republic family living in Ostrava. Aron then developed a love for the game, playing for HC Vítkovice Ridera's junior team throughout his upbringing. Upon reaching his early teen years, it was clear as day that Aron's talents were way beyond his next closest competitor, and so he had to move on to a more competitive scene. This lead to Hernadivic becoming a coveted "free agent" for many of the larger teams in the Extraliga, with Sparta Praha winning the sweepstakes with the allure of practicing with the men's team as well as playing with their 'B' squad. This allowed Hernadivic to develop further, and soon, junior scouts from all over the world were learning of this Czechian wunderkid and flocking to Praha to see him for themselves. However, Hernadivic loved Czechia, and scouts weren't sure of his willingness to leave for NA. This led to Hernadivic slipping to the second round, where he was drafted by St. Louis, who assured him that it would feel like home, as they had plans to draft Aron's longtime friend Sasha Dangelchek after the fact. This came to fruition, and has led to Aron loving his time in St. Louis. (232)

Al was never really noticed as a quality player until later in his teen years. A large part of this might have been his gangly nature due to a rapid growth spurt in his 13th year. Coordination that had been natural to him as a kid seemed to disappear overnight during these first few years as he got used to his new height.

As such he was quiet and modest, there are probably many in his past who would have been shocked to find out that Al would make it to the SMJHL and they would not. However, around his 15th year Al finally stopped growing and was able to regain his balance and athletic gifts. From one season to the next he went from the arguably worst kid on the ice to wearing the c and helping his bantam team win their first pennant. Still those who knew him during this time would not have thought he would get much better.

At the start of his teenage years, Anders was mostly prioritizing school like his parents wanted him to. Coming from Norway, nobody really believe he had any chance at making big playing hockey, because there were only a few players from this country that ended up playing in the big league. It’s also at the end of his teenage years that he saw that his dream of playing in the SHL might happen. His team in Norway went to Sweden at a couple of times a year to play in tournaments and this is where Anders and his family were approached by the general manager of a big team in Sweden that wanted him to join one of their U18 went Anders turned 16. And so, he did. The year before he made it to the SHL, Anders played one season away from home in Sweden and this is with this team that some SHL scouts saw him play for the first time.

Noah Nystrom in his teenage years got a lot of attention locally, but not as much internationally. As he grew into the physically gifted teenager, junior scouts in Stockholm sung Nystrom's praises. He showed defensive responsibility and offensive prowess even in his young development years. People who followed Swedish junior hockey knew his name and in many cases bought his jersey. Everyone seemed to know Nystrom was destined to make it to North America, and it made him a minor celebrity in Stockholm. Outside of Sweden, however, he was very unknown. Call it the European effect or bias, but North America didn't seem to follow Nystrom until right before his draft when international publications finally caught up to the Swedish phenom. Thus, they found an unassuming, even humble star in the making destroying smaller players in his class and helping his junior team set records in wins over his junior career. While he wasn't always driving the offense, his stout defense, even at his young age, made scoring on his team almost impossible when he was on the ice.

During his teenage years Nadeau was what would be considered an average goaltender based on his junior statistics and position on the ice. The raw talent was there but he needed to find a way to refine it. From age 12 to 15, Nadeau was ranked in the middle of his age group among goaltenders in his league and began quickly losing interest in a game that he once saw joy in. At the age of 16 however, Nadeau while training hard before practice, met a former SHL goal-tending coach who saw the raw potential young Patrice possessed. Nadeau worked with his new coach day in and day out, practicing drills and better positioning during screens. At the age of 17 is when things really began to change for a young Patrice Nadeau as his overall game had increased substantially in comparison to previous years. At this age player would normally begin getting drafted to the SMJHL however Nadeau was not even on the scouts radars because of an abysmal youth career. With the help of his coach , Nadeau skyrocketed in the rankings among goalies in his league rising for the 20th spot to the 3rd spot at the age of 17, and returned to the junior league for one more year at the age of 18 raising his ranking to the first position. During his final season in the junior league Nadeau really showed SMJHL scouts what he could really do and began to register on their radars as this final year he broke junior league records. Little did scouts know, he would do the same in the SMJHL for years to come.

So let's see, Jax was a teenager in the late S30s. At that point, his father was just about to take over the Manhattan Rage, his brother was their starting goaltender and they were on their path to the Challenge Cup.

With that in mind, Jax was around a lot of high level SHLers. He's never not been, exactly. As a child, he knew all the greats of the Edmonton Blizzard and experienced as an infant all the big pushes of the Blizzards last Cups of the Reinhart era. So now it's just that rather than watching his dad win, he was watching his brother take the cake in net. He got close with Harry Hans, Wyatt Wollker. He had the chance to meet with Luke Atmey and join a practice with him a couple of times.

He reunited at one point with a friend of his dad's from Edmonton, Winston Windsor. It was something where it was obvious that Jax was going to become a star eventually, considering his lineage and all of the connections he had to set him up. And as he was developing his motor skills more, maturing and gaining speed and stamina, he was showing that he had the chops that would bring him to the burrough eventually.

An old man's dream ended. A young man's vision of the future opened wide. Young men have visions, old men have dreams. But the place for old men to dream is beside the fire.

Growing up in Japan meant that Akira Ren wasn’t exposed to Hockey at an early age. In fact, his early high school years were quite difficult and he was preoccupied with other things as a member of the Phantom Thieves. As he approached the end of high school, Ren started to hear about the Smeb brothers who were making waves in Japan. These 6 brothers were hockey prodigies and were making waves overseas in the SMJHL and the SHL. Soon hockey fever would sweep over Japan and everyone wanted to start playing it. Much to his surprise Ren found that he was extremely talented at hockey. One day while playing a game with his friends, he was spotted by a SHL scout. The scout worked for the Chicago Syndicate and was in Japan to talk to the 5 Smeb brothers who played for Chicago about offseason plans. The scout was blown away by Ren and touted him as the next big talent from Japan, he quickly approached Ren and suggested he make himself eligible for the SMJHL Entry draft after finishing high school. Ren was blown away by this and continued to train hard in his hopes of one day following in the footsteps of the Smebs.

Alright so as Sam moved on in life he started to perform really well in a defensive role and thus was played there for the majority of his youth. He was noticed by a local scout for one of the AAA teams while playing in a game for his home town team and was invited to try out for the club. Little did that coach know, Sam was still two years younger than the rest of this team. Sam ended up playing AAA hockey at a level a year ahead of his birth group for the majority of his youth career, and this made junior scouts froth at the mouth, looking for every chance the could to pick him up. It was really his skating skills that separated him as he was younger. Sam fell in hte draft because of his youth, something that he was not happy about, but his hard work on his shooting game helped him to be the first member of his birth year to get the SHL call, and to earn a Challenge Cup.

Freshman year of high school was when I really made the jump in my age group. Up to this point I had been playing on just my middle school team and not on a club team. I made first line varsity freshman year and joined one of the best clubs in the area where I dominated out of the gates. I became the star of the school team that had struggled for several years. We had started to win so much that students actually went to the games. Before then the most popular team in school was the boys lacrosse team. I played goalie for the varsity team junior and senior year which helped keep me active when hockey wasn’t in. Once freshman year ended I joined a local club team which was a lot of work. Jumping back and forth between school and club was exhausting. It ended up being worth it though. I gained serious recognition when I scored two hat tricks in one tournament while also getting into one fight and one yelling match with the opposing coach. I was the type of player you hated which made me more dangerous on the ice.

Jon Forty-One was a relatively happy teenager. Surrounded by multiple people who loved him and looked after him and made sure he was raised well within the cult. At the age of 14 he got his one and only tattoo of the cult on his right arm. It is a skull and cult insignia with Mr. 41 just below it. This was probably the most traumatic experience he had growing up cause he did not like getting it. One of those lightweights with tattoos.

A part from that it was him studying for a general education or training to be the best ice hockey player he could be. Add sleep and eating and you've gotten a typical weak for Jon growing up but he loved it. He always has loved this sport and how much fun he has skating on ice. He did not meet any other SHL players growing up since he was in Scotland and not many exist in the league as is but they would have gotten a long if they were on the same team. Now he is just an angry dick and thriving in Edmonton.
