S71 SMJHL PT #4 - Pre-game Playlist
#31

Great Falls' pre game locker room playlist is full of great songs to get the team pumped up and ready to play.

First up on the playlist is Dreams and Nightmares by Meek Mill. Arguably one of the best hype pre-game songs of all time, Meek Mill delivers a powerful and inspiring performance about succeeding through grinding and enjoying being great. The energy in this song is unmatched.

2nd on the playlist is family ties by Baby Keem featuring Kendrick Lamar. This is Baby Keem's biggest and arguably best song. The beat's marching band like sample is great for program, and both Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar deliver awesome verses on two great bets.

3rd is Bitch Where by Chief Keef. The triumphant beat and lyrics which are as clever and funny as they are inspirational. Chief Keef the GOAT

4th is Just Wanna Rock by Lil Uzi Vert. THis song is fun as hell and I just wanna see my teammates try to do lil uzi's dance

5th is NOSTYLIST by Destroy Lonely. I haven loved most of the new wave of rage inspired hiphop, this song by Destroy Lonely is definitely a hitter

Quebec City's pre-game playlist consists of only bangers to get the team fired up and ready to go:

1. Holiday by Green Day. Nothing like that starting guitar riff to get the boys fired up and ready for the game like Holiday. It was the Canucks goal song in 2011 for a reason.

2. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana. A classic whose lyrics everyone knows but no one knows what they mean. Absolute pure anger and hype in this one.

3. The Kids Aren't Alright by The Offspring. Another great riff with a strong sound to get the boys ready and locked in. However, this is nothing but a prequel for...

4. Burn it to the Ground by Nickelback. Loud in it's strongest form in this playlist, and quite different to the last song.

5 (tunnel song). Run This Town by Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Rihanna. A bit different to most of the rock songs on this playlist and most typical pregame playlists, it sets the stage for the game. We gon' run this town tonight.

182 words (dammit, should've added blink-182)

Songs:
  1. Drowning Pool - Bodies
This song is going through my head as I lay the hits on the ice. Let the bodies hit the floor, everywhere around me.
  2. Talking Heads - Psycho Killer
I just want everyone to kind of have a crazed intensity to their games, and I think this song brings that out. Also it is a great song.
  3. Eminem - Til I Collapse
One of the most motivational songs ever, for me anyway. This one also keeps me pushing my hardest. Eminem can also represent a crazy level of intensity that I want us to personify.
  4. Papa Roach - Last Resort
I mean all these songs are meant to get hyped, this one is no exception. I grew up rocking out to this song and it has been on every workout playlist since.
  5. Alanis Morsette - Ironic
This is on everybody's ‘get hyped’ playlist right. If not, it should be. I challenge anyone to get through the chorus of this and not be hyped.
Sean Bird -  Berserkers

#1 Devil went down to Georgia - by Nickelback. A new twist on an old classic creates a great mix of in your face fuck you rock and country vibes. Never fails to get the boys fired up

#2 Kickstart my heart - by Motley Crue. Originally written about being resuscitated after a heroin overdoes, this glam metal anthem always gives you enough energy to run through a brick wall

#3 California Gurls - Katy perry Ft Snoop Dogg. Perhaps an unexpected entry, but who doesn't love singing along to 2010s pop music? Everyone loves belting out the Snoop Dogg rap too

#4 Top gun Anthem - Harold Faltermeyer. If you have seen the original Top gun and then saw Top gun Maverick and didn't get a bit misty eyed at it copying the intro you are a moron. If those first few notes don't get you fired up enough to enlist on the spot you're doing something wrong

#5 Money for Nothing - Dire Straits. One of the best intros in all of music, 8 minutes of pure rock. Those mfers do gotta move them color TVs

The St. Louis Scarecrows' pre game playlist is all about hyping the team up to get ready and imagine just what might end up coming out of a Four Star Cup victory - or just even a win at home on any given day, really. It doesn't matter.

First up, we have 'Beautiful Girls' by Van Halen. What else do you need than some beautiful girls swooning over your sweaty ass after you come out on top of a rival team in a close game?

Second, 'Take it Easy' by The Eagles. Just imagining how a player would get to 'take it easy' after a hard fought victory is surely enough to encourage any dude to play his best.

Third, 'Best I Can' by Rush. Hockey is a game about doing the best you can out on the ice, right? This song exemplifies just that. Obviously.

Fourth, 'Dreams' by Fleetwood Mac. Pretty obvious, who doesn't dream of a Four Star Cup at night?

Finally, right before they head out, 'You've Got Another Thing Coming' by Judas Priest. Just to let the enemy know what's about to hit them.

1. Get the Party Started - P!nk
Obviously a key song to hyping yourself up– which is huge when you're pregaming. Plus everyone knows the words to it, and even if you don't, you can still jam!!!

2. Monster - Kanye West
Singing this song makes you feel indomitable and unconquerable. This is the greatest energy to have when stepping onto the ice. If you can sing any part of this song, do it now. It will make you feel like God.

3. That New Funkadelic - Ice Cube
High energy, catchy, makes you want to dance, perfect pump up song.

4. Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi*
* or don't stop believing, or mr brightside, or sweet caroline, you know the vibes. those are the vibes. #drunkkaraoke

5. Make Some Noise - Beastie Boys
Every hype playlist should end with a call and response. What gets people more pumped than a call and response where you get to hoot and holler. Literally nothing else.
