And so what they have a strong midfield, that's why there's formations. 3-5-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-2-1, 4-1-4-1 and more. Plenty of formations to support 5 mids or 3 mids 2 attackers, etc. Worst case they rotate their squad or players play positions they aren't used to (see italy) either way Chris Ghana will not go without getting a point.

a problem is ... if a team has a great OFFENSE but a shut sucking DEFENSE! watch Dortmund this season! each time dumb goal against! and that is the problem this season! and was the last season too!!!!

ya lol Chris I don't think I need to write out Germany's team they're going to win this group easily. I don't think their defense is good enough to stop teams like Brazil, Spain, Italy. They'll be in the top 4 for sure but finals? I want them to make it but I don't know if they can beat a team of Spain/Brasil caliber. I just hope we don't see a Spain/Brasil victory.

Also Chris Germany is loaded at midfield but outside of that? Gomez is amazing but does he have any relief? Is Klose the player he used to be?

On defense they have Lahm and Hummels yes but Boateng and Mertsacker aren't incredible. Howedes will be better in a few seasons. LB would be who? Schmelzer maybe? He's nothing special.

Midfield is obviously hands down the best in the world: Gotze, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Reus, Muller, Schurle, Bender, Gundogan, Draxler, Ozil, Khedira.

And Neuer is a monster in nets.

Honestly I'd just be happy to see USA get 3 points against Ghana. Ghana's consistently had our number in the last few cups and I'd at least like to see the USA under Klinsmann make some WC progress.
