what do you mean by defending him though? He didn't need defending, he needed to keep his mouth shut and stop being racist.

Just like I tell Gorlab to shut up when he's being dumb. Even if it doesn't work, it looks better than just ignoring the idiocy and only caring when it affects (effects?) the team.

Never read the thread, so I had no clue. I have no idea what kind of point you're trying to make that our team didn't stop him. What are we supposed to do? I had a lot more on my mind during those events and following days than checking in on here.

I can't speak for my team but I wasn't involved in that thread. I saw it once it was posted and that's all. Never expected that to happen and if i had seen what he said I would have tried to do something.
There's a difference between hedgehog and the other cases, he showed no remorse for his posts. When confronted, all he said was, yeah I'm a racist and that's not going to change.
The other cases realized their stupidity and paid the price. We're not in the permaban business and we've given second chances to a lot of people who have done stupid stuff, but there's no place for people like hedgehog who wear their disgusting views with pride.

I do as well, and while there's absolutely no defending what Spangs did because it was an incredibly dumb and insensitive thing to do,
I would not say at all that sending a picture of a swastika with no follow up or reason is the same as this or even close to this. If he had sent a picture of a swastika and followed it up with a comment saying some ridiculously insensitive thing like "I hope they kill all the jews" or something like that then yes that would be on par...
Again I DO NOT even remotely condone what Spangs did but while it was dumb, I don't think it was sent with nearly as much of a hateful reason as what Hedgehog has done.
