EDIT: Nevermind, literally all games claimed. The actual problem of the system of using sim days for weeks, going to be difficult to get on a game. Meh, I'll have to be quicker I guess.
We have 90+ draftees and 20-25 games a week, plus vets. We have only 12 weeks, plus finals. That means a maximum of half of the current draft class is actually going to be able to get 5 games (nevermind the non rookies)... will we have a solution later, like letting 2 people cover 1 game?

<a href='index.php?showuser=232' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-24'>JayWhy</a>, you're a rookie, you can boot someone if they are a send-down. This is meant for you guys to get up there.

I'll go through and find you a game.

Updated to here. A few notes:

- Yes, I know it's a bit crowded, but this is kind of the point of reducing the # of games claimed per sim week, to spread out TPE and allow everyone a chance.

- <a href='index.php?showuser=2179' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-17'>Snuffalupagus</a>, <a href='index.php?showuser=283' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-54'>McJesus</a>, and <a href='index.php?showuser=1322' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-45'>mpc</a> were booted, and <a href='index.php?showuser=72' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-10'>fever95</a> was skipped to give spots to rookies on this week's list. I'll try to get you guys spots here soon.

- <a href='index.php?showuser=2274' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Rabidsponge21</a>, I'm not going to switch you this time because it's an easy fix, but if you claim someone else's claim and do it before they get a chance, I'm erasing it. Respect their claim as you'd want yours respected.

I'm trying to run this as best I can. The huge influx of rookies makes this hard, but I assure you that everyone will get fair chance. Those with more PGS under their belt will be booted for someone with less, with the exception of send-down versus rookie player. So 2/5 loses to 1/5, but 2/5 rookie wins over 1/5 send down. Send-downs have more experience with the league, have access to SHL TTC and SHL equipment. It'll be ok, there's 200 games available. At worst, 200 people have a chance to get 1 game, but I assure you that won't be the case. If you have any questions, PM me, Snuffalupagus, or start a Thunderdome thread like the rest of the bunch.

Alright, that makes sense.

Alright, that makes sense.

Thanks for understanding, I get the need for TPE and I want to offer everyone a chance Smile Also trying to be as transparent about grading and scheduling as possible, it's a growing experience

I move that 1 player from each team should be able to do the PGS for the same game.

Wouldn't it be fair/cool to get the PGS from both perspectives? For instance, Montreal Militia vs Vancouver Whalers was claimed by bk1689, a member of the Militia. They won. I can bet dollars to donuts that my PGS of the same game would be much different than his.

With only 20 games per in the first 2 weeks, it's really not that many spots.

I like the idea. It gives more people the chance to tell their story of the game and see things through both sets of rose-tinted glasses. There are a few issues:

- Not every game is taken by players from the teams that are playing. This type of need-based claim sets up a few games that will be the same generic TSN type recap twice instead of the 2 local sets of analysts going in depth to their team's performance.

- TPE inflation is a very touchy subject. I know we encountered this issue at the end of last season reviewing the PGS process and making modifications for this year. That's why this task is limited to rookies and 1st year send-downs instead of all send-downs. However, a 2/game claim in a uniquely large draft class may make sense to give everyone a chance to do PGS. I try to keep the spread even and keep claims fair, giving guys that haven't done it the chance to tell a story. 2/game might be that chance.

- This is meant to really separate the herd, if I remember the intent initially correctly, with more active members doing PGS on top of other TPE opportunities. It shows who is active and who is not. Some of that means people get left out. Not everyone should get a trophy. I work the claims to make things more even, but at the same time, you do have to post to get your games and that takes a certain level of activity. I'll also try to post in the Index thread to give more visibility. Bottom line: it's not meant for everyone to cap out.

There are probably more concerns, but I do agree there should be opportunities to make things more personal and creative, and team-based PGS sounds like an interesting concept. I'll discuss it with the SMJHL Commissioners and see if it's something that can be approved, but don't be too optimistic.

So, after quick consideration, we are opening up each game to 2 claims/game. This will allow for more people to cap out, given the number of people in the last draft class, and allow for different perspectives on each game. I put in the 4 people that were bumped, they are not allowed to be bumped this round, and the other rules still apply for all other claims.

Claim away!

Ok, to rephrase because I understand where this is coming from: still only 1 claim per sim week. You've got a claim for this week, work on that one. 2 people can claim the same game, however, so if someone who hasn't claimed a game yet this week wants to, they can.
