Quote:Originally posted by iOBESE@Sep 28 2016, 10:31 AM I moved to this place a month ago! Before creating a player in SHL I played a similar league called LSHL. The main reason I left that place was the dispute between some people and the fact that veterans had this idea in mind that they are somehow more special than newcomers.
And somehow it was only your team thinking, that the vets feel more special than others. The same team that constantly broke the rules. Such a convinient story. But what's in the past may stay in the past. Soon you'll find out that shitstorms like this one and the LSHL one's are pretty regular here, as I explained to you when you started your career in LSHL. They're just inevitable, there's no way 200 different people can live in complete harmony.
Glad you find yourself in here, though. Best of luck in the coming season and prepare for some IIHF competition.

That's all cool! I do not expect everything to be ice cream and rainbows as I totally agree with you saying that 200 people cannot all have the same thinking and agree on everything. About LSHL, yeah, some people did break the rules, but we never fought against the penalties they received...it was the vets who started the riot when they got penalties...you included. The issue is that people that are in positions like GM's and staff, cannot be biased and a lot of people are saying that Kez is biased in this case. I don't know is it like that, but I do disagree with the decision he has made.
I read Schultzy's letter and the first thing I think sarcastically is "for goodness sake, don't tamper." I took the SHL/SMJHL seriously in the past. I understood that any level of fairness did not exist in the SHL then and so I quit. I'm back with the understanding that the whole league is nothing but a farce. It really still can be an enjoyable farce, if you recognize it for what it is. I'm just popping more popcorn, smiling, laughing even, and moving on.

Guess he should have been more clear- not afraid to make smart decisions.
So basically unless the crybabies agree with it it's not a smart decision. Gotcha
Kez has said he's looking for a way to close up loopholes like this. In the mean time, we followed every rule, we waited until the appropriate time to create our players, we didn't receive any contracts until after that time, we signed when we were allowed. We read the rule book carefully and followed it to a tee. Trying to punish someone for that is idiotic, that's why there's a law against punishing people for things that were legal when they happened and became illegal afterwards. Be mad, cry about it, retire, idc but we did nothing wrong as it pertains to the rules, Kez has no valid reason to punish us as he's said 100 times now.
In this case hate the player not the game
Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

Just because it´s not against the rules does not mean you should go and do it.
Amazing that members with mindset like you have are allowed to have jobs in this league. Everything is allowed as long it´s not against the rules, amazing example for the new members. You should be against stuff like this, not the one who goes out there and actually does it.
Well is anyone going to do anything about? I see a lot of back and forth here but everyone's exchanges can be summed up with "Well that's just how you see things" instead of anyone actually saying that this shit needs to change.
What keeps people coming back to sites like this is honesty, integrity and a sense of good fun. And that shit does not include veterans going around the draft just to sign with one team. What kind of an example does that set?
Just do it for fuck sake. Ban people. Fire people. If something this big isn't cleaned up, what the fuck is going to be cleaned up? Get a grip, I'm a new member still and I've had plenty of fun on this site but this is just blatant corruption.

No not everything is allowed. Something that's been done in the past, that follows the rules, harms no-one and adds enjoyment for some is fine in my book. Our players have 155 TPE, some of us haven't even updated yet (myself included) and most if not all of us are in the SMJHL for one season. If I was a rookie I would KILL for something like this to happen. It would give me a team to hate and want to make myself better to beat that team. What we did was no different at all than each one of us saying "we refuse to play for every other team so don't waste your picks because we're not signing a contract" something COUNTLESS people have done with nobody bitching.
You can say I should be against things like this, sorry, I'm not, at all, because I've been here long enough to see, when shit like this happens it creates activity, it creates rivalries, it adds drama to an otherwise boring league. So please, if you guys find a way to make a team public enemy number 1 go right on ahead Id be right there with you in not being happy. Only difference is, instead of crying and blaming the commissioner or begging for people to be punished, I'd start bustin my ass and pushing my team to beat those fucks. So SMJHL choice is yours, spend all your time crying and complaining about how life is unfair. Or stop being pansies and bring it. Detroit is ready.

Worst case scenario, all us S31 Draft class can just recreate in 10-15 seasons and sign with a team or two, and create two instant juggernauts, so its not big deal really. So what SMJHL wants to instant sign 9 forward, 4 d and a goalie in say 12 seasons? Fielding offers now.
