The truth? I see myself with two options.

The first would be to open up shop in Montreal and base myself off one the other team that once played in the NHL other than the Canadiens in the Montreal Maroons but I will not do that. My choice is to go in a Market that has been dying for a team again since it's team left in 1996. With a strong partnership with Quebecor Media I am proud to announce the creation of the Quebec City Aces!

The City of Quebec once had a team named like this in junior and semi-professional levels, it was an AHL team back in the 50's up to the 70's with it's best product to ever come out of it being legendary player Jean Beliveau!

The team would be based off the legacy of Le Gros Bill along with his passion for hockey and the impact he had on our game and the community. Quebec is the perfect location for a new SHL team with a brand new arena in the Centre Videotron and the fan base there is undeniable when you look at the pre-season games the Canadiens do for the past 5 or so years not to mention the constant sales of Nordiques merchandise across the World.

For a mascot, nostalgia oblige the return of Badaboum would be a must with a change of jersey of course. If Youppi can go from the Expos to the Canadiens then his furry cousin from the other end of highway 20 can do the same

Carolina Blues

A branding that I would like to pull off one day in a league. I'm not a big UNC or St. Louis fan or anything, but I like the idea of combining the color carolina blue with the blues moniker. For names, I like to do something more unique than the typical animal mascot or something. I also like there being a connection between name and location, and Carolina Blues kind of does that. The mascot for The Carolina Blues would be a blue bird. For expansion teams, in serious leagues, I like to go with a name that's not entirely silly. I need it to be well executed, and I think The Carolina Blues accomplishes that. This is a brand I'd be proud to head. The team would be located in Wilmington, NC right by the ocean, or possibly five hours away in the mountains of Asheville, NC. I would rather stay out of the existing hockey markets in North Carolina.

I believe that Coach-Biz should be one of the next members of the site to get a crack at an SHL GM job. Ive shown through Austria that i am passionate about my team and will work as hard as possible to to represent the franchise to the best of my ability.

As for this new expansion franchise...I would settle into my home town of Whitby but that would be too easy.. so we are moving into the US and settling into the garden state where the 'NEW JERSEY WAWA'S' will become the newest expansion team of the SHL!

The WAWA's named after the 32,000 WAWA's in NJ will play there games in Freehold in a newly built 15,400 seat arena named 'PIGEON PARK' which was inspired by our team mascot... 'The Playoff Pigeon' .. the PP will run around the stadium fake pooping in the isles, eating peoples popcorn and handing out doorags to little WAWA enthusiasts in the stands!... Our teams primary colors will be Brown and Grey.

If I could add a team anywhere I want I’d look no further than Charlotte, North Carolina. Being one of the biggest motorsport hotbeds in America, the area could also use some quality SHL team. The team name would obviously be something both North and South Carolina could get behind and as such I would call the team:

The Carolina Reapers

Other than being one of the hottest peppers in the world, the Reaper is farmed in Rock Hill, South Carolina, itself a short drive from Charlotte. The grim reaper is an aggressive image of finality. Both for whomever consumes one of the peppers and for the teams that would be facing off this team. Tapping into the southern east coast is a good opportunity for the SHL, as it gives some company, and regional rivalry to the West Kendall Platoon.

Much like the NHL’s Hurricanes, the Reapers would be sporting a primarily red uniform, with black as a secondary. Also ztevans gave me his blessing so that counts for something.

It seems strange to me that we don’t have a Chicago team. When I think of iconic American cities, I think of New York, LA, and Chicago. Chicago also has some very iconic sports teams like the Bulls, the Blackhawks, and the Cubs. It’s also a huge television market, I think only third to New York and LA. So, I think it makes a ton of sense for us to expand to Chicago. The thing I struggle with is what the team name should be. I don’t really know much about Chicago. I think one thing people think about relating to Chicago is organized crime, which I would prefer to avoid referencing. You could try something relating to the Great Lakes, or riverboats, but I don’t know how that would work. An interesting way to go might be a name related to the world’s first nuclear reactor, the Chicago Pile-1. I would probably go with something simpler, like Wind or Storm, to play off of the Windy City nickname.

The SHL has chosen to expand and longtime member and player agency representative Kendrick gets the chance to build from the ground up. Kendrick has chosen to place his expansion team in the beautiful city of Chicago. Chicago is a sports town and has had great success in other professional leagues. The new squad will be named the "Sting" and will have a flying wasp as their mascot. The team colours will be Black/Yellow and White and the Allstate Arena will house the new franchise. Chicago is a great choice because of their success in the NHL, NBA, NFL, MLS, MLB and various other big events that come to town. Of course with expansion comes an expansion draft and the Sting will look to add some fast, smart and durable rosters from the get-go. This is a big announcement as it somewhat settles ties with an agency that has done no wrong in the SHL history.

If I was to make an expansion team, I'd want to make it in a city that's deserving, and works well. I would make a team exist in the most dreaded place in the United States, right in the sun belt. I would make a team in good old Louisiana. They would be the.... New Orleans Voodoo.

In visiting New Orleans, the city is rife with history, and people love to be there. They band together when it gets tough and make things work. There would be nothing better than putting a hockey team here to compete with the Saints and the Pelicans.

As the team would be called the Voodoo, their mascot would most definitely be a Witch Doctor type character. Black and white with bones showing. Nothing super serious, but not cartoony either. He would be silent, and work his best magic to curse the other team. Imagine a lot of chanting and smoke during the pre-game show.

Finally, their colors would be typical, being gold, purple and green. I want everything about this team to speak of the culture and history of New Orleans, and give those drunkards something to cheer for when football season is over. Couldn't imagine a better team.

My proposition for a new expansion team would have to be the Hawaiian blunts with there famous mascot Sparky the Blunt
The reason I would put the team in Hawaii is because it such a beautiful and tropical place and if you haven’t smoked a blunt in the woods or by a lake or some tropical ass place you missing out.
The reason I would make my mascot Sparky the Blunt is because it has a very catchy name and a comical one too. The logo looks like the flame emoji with a face hugging a fat blunt.
The main marketing pursuit will be on the side of a volcano spray paint the teams logo Sparky the blunt. Of course we will use bill boards and posters like every other team but we will have a hot box wensday night where we just got box tf out of the stadium and when the players are too high to play that’s when the game ends not on a regular three period basis.

Fresno Freaks

What does the world of professional hockey desperately need? More teams in California! With a population of just over 500,000, Fresno may not be the largest city in the state... but that doesn't mean it won't support its hockey team just as sporadically as any other strange market choice! Come on down to the Gateway Ice Center to watch the city's first major sporting team, and after action, take a scenic tour through the streets to behold such sites as... a whole lot of small art centers and underused theaters, traffic and the occasional tree! Sure, it's no San Francisco or Los Angeles, but those cities are already taken. Don't like the Freaks branding?

Well, maybe California will just have to be 1 out of 3 as far as good franchises go. But maybe Fresno can be second to the Panthers? Probably.

The team's jerseys will be bright green with gold stripes and white accents, with a strange monster logo intended to represent absolutely nothing about the city save a lack of creativity on the part of its owner. Its mascot will follow suit with the logo and hand out free popcorn and soft drinks to encourage fan participation. With any luck, the promise of some free food will help pack the minuscule arena.

I have always been fan of The Wire, so if I would get the opportunity to add a team into the league - the team would play in Baltimore, Maryland! I would call the team Baltimore Pandas due to my ongoing love towards pandas, they are just so fluffy and nice looking.

I would naturally have a panda as the teams mascot, you can also find pandas in pretty much every single merchandise we sell.

Somebody might be wondering if Baltimore Pandas is a good name for a team, after all it´s not the most intimidating one - especially if there is Dragons,Panthers etc already in the league? To those I can only say - wait until you see the type of hockey I plan on promoting.

Baltimore Pandas will be one of the most physical teams in the leagues history, but unlike some of the goon teams we have seen in the past, the Pandas will be a disciplined team that focuses on making even entering our zone as hard as possible.

As a organization we will put real effort in making the game of hockey be as accessible as possible to the people of Baltimore, cheap equipment and hockey rinks all over the city that will be free to use.

Maybe some day we will get to draft player who grew up using those services and watched the Pandas play.

So, I've been told by many people that the point of sim leagues is for people who don't have a local team to pretend that they have a team. But there comes a point where that seems bullshit when the two biggest markets in the country (LA and NY) have teams and not the third. That's why I feel Chicago should get a team.
Now, I have a history with creating Chicago teams and it's honestly pretty hard for me to come up with another original team name. But as it turns out, I've been in discussions with people talking about the new USL team and I feel like I've a good name: The Chicago Bricklayers. I always like to find some sort of connection to Chicago history in my teams and this name comes from an ooooooold old school soccer team from the Chicago area: Bricklayers and Masons FC, who were founded in 1914 and went on to win two US Open Cups in 1928 and 1931.
I want this team have that same working class grit and determination to win as those that came before. You said something about a mascot and I really don't know if we could do that, but my main focus would be trying to identify with the community, even if it's imaginary.
